Remember: The outcome of the shot is calculated in the split second when the mouse is clicked. This includes the final position of the ball and the status of the flag.

I once removed it whilst the ball was in flight only to see it rebound off the flag that wasn't there and end up 30 feet away, Rookie mistake.
Remove it before you hit the shot.
