The great thing about my next round was that I was +2 after 7, bogeyed 6 and 7. Often I'd end the round here, thinking no chance, but a birdie at 8 gave me the hope to carry on, and I know the back 9 much better now.
The back 9 I played was superb (well, for me. Blushes modestly). 2 great birdie putts made on 13 and 16. 13 was a 18ft downhill banana, the 16th even longer - 23ft. And my pitch from the (familiar) bunker at 15 to 2ft saved me any worries on the green.
So I stood on the 18th, 1 under par. Hit a perfect drive. I don't get to play the 18th quite as much as other holes, so I just aimed left, trying to hit the green middle. Slightly over done though, and pushed it through onto the fringe, about 18yds away. But my pitch was nice, within 3 foot, and I made the par.
So what does that all mean?
I've done it !!
1 under ! (there'll be singing and dancing in my hometown tonight).
