We Want Oakmont Back -- Petition

  Maybe we can at least get an answer as to why from Oakmont. We deserve this in the least.

  Right - so far all we players can say is conjecture. Was it Oakmont's decision? Was WGT at fault? It could even have been WGT's decision - frankly we do not know right now.

  It's gone !!!!!! 

  The reason for it being taken away really doesn't matter. Surely it is between WGT and Oakmont, do you really expect them to divulge business decisions !! Get real !!

  I too regret it being taken away, but I see no point in whining on here about, especially since it will NEVER bring it back

  No care of Oakmond which was one of the lest interessing course on WGT.

  Anyway WGT, have contracts with each golf course owners. As everyone known a contract has a begin and a end.

  If no Oakmond or WGT are not interested in the renewal of the contract this one ends.

  The reason does matter to some of us. Apparently not you, so what are you doing in here?  I stated my case calmly and sternly. Most people got the point of thread, maybe try reading title again and first post

  From where I sit, Fencer's post was a generalisation but yours is unbecomingly personal AB. Fencer has as much right as anyone else to state his point of view.

  Re-the losing of Oakmont: I'm a kinda look forward guy. Looking back gets you nowhere, apart from bumping into a post/pole maybe or knocking some old lady over perhaps. It's happened so play on. Or not subject to your personal feelings of course.

  As far as I know nobody was ever resurrected after in inquest. Although I have heard a rumour it did in fact happen a couple of thousand years ago or so. But again, it is only a rumour.

  While I laud the attempts to have Oakmont re-instated, the contract/agreement was between two third parties whom, and as members of WGT, we hold no sway over. Purely from my personal viewpoint it's a case of objections and feelings have been lodged now it's time to move on. Certainly no need for bitterness and personal attacks.

  I did read your opening post and I have never seen in the time I have been on WGT a petition such as this result in something being reinstated. And nor I suspect have you, but no doubt someone will pop up and prove me wrong, but do i care ........ NO !

  As has been stated many times it was in all likelihood a business decision by Oakmont, the Club, which resulted in this happening. A decision many disagree with, but at the end of the day that is their right and who are we as internet gamers to tell them they are wrong. Obviously WGT had to take Oakmont away for very good reasons and this seems the most plausible.

  From what I have learned, it was actually Oakmont Country Club that made the decision not to renew the contract with Top Golf/WGT. Now having said this I do believe that there is still a way for us to get them to reconsider and in order to make that happen it will require a good number to step up and make a phone call to the following individual:

  General Manager Oakmont Country, Mr. Paul Mroz 1-412-828-8000, ext 230

  Maybe if we all take the time to make a polite call we just might get them to resign! :)

  What generalization? He was pretty direct

  We also have our views PhilEstein and we're trying to get something done. We want a more direct reason as to why we lost oak. Fencer doesn't care about reason which is okay but then he says we're whining because of our views and actions. How is that not insulting to the other side lol or as you call it " unbecomingly personal"... That's what we call a double standard. This person was the one getting "personal" with his little coy remarks. Give me a break. If you can't handle the heat, don't dish it out. Simple as that.

  AB's problem is he doesn't like it when someone doesn't agree with his point of view, or anything else either.

  I personally am not worried what he says about me or what I have written. Fortunately I don't concern myself too much when someone holds views different to me, they are entitled to that. I am not and never have been a keyboard warrior either. I merely state what I believe, I don't set out to bully people and I abhor even the concept of bullying. In my mind that is a nasty form of cowardice.

  Last comment from me on this post, I just can't be bothered with justifying my opinions, I have better things to be doing with my time unlike some !!

  If you read my reply(s) it's very clear this isn't the case. My problem is with those who try to deminish or try to make the other sides opinion/actions seem foolish which you did exactly that by saying we're just whining/get real. You could have just stated your piece and been done with it. You get called out on it and then call foul...lol
