I guarantee if you had unlimited strokes on the high dollar balls you would find them OOB or in the water way more. There is a method to WGT's madness and they have 100% control of it. This game is a big business, don't doubt it for a second. Play as you may and get what you can from the enjoyment.

Okay, I've written about this before. Buying golf balls from the WGT pro shop and having them being taken out of play by WGT when they decide they're worn out. And fellow computer golfers have answered with reasons the WGT does it. The truth of the matter is 'there is no good reason'

The reality is that in real life or in virtual life, all balls eventually wear out.

IBTD: My real balls never wear out - even the golf balls don't!

I may manage a few rounds with one golf ball, but eventually the odd "unlucky" shot takes care of them despite their experience and they are gone...

Yes, in reality, they all wear out....and in reality, no pro shop or CC comes and takes golf balls away from golfers because their golf balls are worn out and especially if it's because a golfer ain't losing them fast enough. That, in reality, may result in a very uncomfortable situation. I think you can imagine yourself in that kind of scenario, can't you?

They also don't typically let you play their courses for free either. Nor do they provide an unlimited supply of a basic ball, if you don't want to purchase balls.

In other words, the analogy breaks down quite quickly, making it less persuasive than one might first think.

    +1 Robert!

Read again: My real golf balls don't.

But, driving to my home course (2x25 km return trip) costs as much as two sleeves of my WGT balls.

I laugh at "my real golf balls never wear out" like it's a joke.  People playing Call of Duty don't complain when they kill someone and they re-spawn closeby, saying "when I shoot someone IRL with an automatic rifle they don't come back to life".

Hey, it's all good, but you're defending a venus fly trap and you're deep within the flower...

Difference being, "killed" balls don't come back on either side of the screen ;)
