Excellent, anything I can do to make your site run smoother!
As for the first question from my original post.
“I have notice recently the game will hang when trying to load data from the following sites.”
Do you mean that you are having problems loading pages within our
community site rather than the game itself (which run in a separate
pop-up window) being affected?
Now, this may be particular to the browser I am using. The browser (Firefox 3.5.2) was suggested by your group, and overall I'm very pleased with its performance.
The answer to your first question needs to be broken down into two parts.
- At times when I am accessing your forums within your community site, which runs in a separate tab, and not in a pop window. The pages being displayed will hang waiting for information from the sites mention in my original post. That information was ascertained in the lower left hand corner of the browser and confirmed in my firewall logs as packets being dropped.
- The gameplay at times is also affected. For example when you finish a hole the scorecard will show and at times a notice from my firewall of a malform packet being dropped from the following websites 74.115.125.149 and 74.115.125.148.
Does any portion of
the site render at all? Are you seeing the HTML contents but perhaps
not the flash components?
The html contents are displayed correctly but without the ads. Now, perhaps this is the issue here, since I do not allow for ads to be displayed in the browser. Generally it slows down the performance of the browser. However, your community site may have a time feature to allow for retrieving said information thus slowing down the page being displayed.
Here is a screen dump of the page when it hangs/
In terms of the firewall logs showing what appears to be a port scan
– I think these are just timed out connections rather than an intrusion
of some sort. In this case most likely from a script we utilize that is
hosted on Google’s servers.
Unfortunately
, there is no mistake of the port scans. The connection with WGT would automatically determine which ports are being utilized. Checking to see if the other ports are open is result of a port scan unfortunately.
