  So WGT can we have one off this list of US open courses?

  Or cut Pinehurst and use the funds for Oakmont? lol please.

  You should ask them if you wanna know,

  and, presumably, Shinnecock and Winged Foot are on the bucket list.

  I just am surprised that a course that is played 1/3 as much is kept and a popular course is removed is money the issue because that seemed like a bad choice if it is.

  Thanks for checkin in Alasso I think I read that Shinnecock is slated i was looking at the course kinda bland flat but it has history and I will wait to judge later lol.

  I also thought it was a neat list of the Open history, and future courses.

  They never say anything about it, but probably it's due to travel costs.  It's also likely that the only courses we will be getting are US Open venues anymore.  The last 3 were Chambers Bay (Open 2015), Pebble Beach (Open 2019) and Erin Hills (this years Open).  Top Golf seems to have a different agenda/goals.

  I wanted Pebble's full 18 and they complied ;)

  It may stay on my bucket list of real golf until the final sunset, but I can inherit the virtual views at any leisure hour...

  Other than that, I teed it up (*) on the Old Course, I played got beat by Carnoustie and I looked at RSG (bringing home a logo ball + a genuine strokesaver + a cap) and I found some dream courses of lesser importance...

  (*) but not more (played Jubilee and New and the Himalayas though)

  I asked the WGT if we had lost Oakmont and never heard back.  The answer from this forum appears to be yes.  That is a real disappoint.  Oakmont is one of the most famous courses in the world and a frequent host to the U.S. Open. If it is money that is also disappointing because I had Oakmont on a CD computer game years ago.  How expensive could it be?  I agree with other posts that suggested dropping a course like Chambers Bay which has hosted 1 major and may never host another, or maybe Pinehurst (though it has hosted at least 3 U.S. Opens).
