  Of the two wedges he had, there was a gap of 60 years (50yd and a 110 yd).  People, you have to drop the hybrid and get a third wedge. 

  The item with this combo is the gap between the wedges, and the (probably) missing gap towards the PW.

  Below a mid- or low level iron set, no third wedge is necessary. Stick to two(!) short(!!) custom(!!!) wedges (I prefer 50 / 75 for shortness, including a 41 yds punch shot) and choose the third wedge once a better iron set is in your bag.

  (One of the minor traps in the Pro Shop is that the longer wedges are available before the precious shorter ones.)

  Go with 100 | 80 | 60.  Much easier to figure the increments when hitting an in-between shot.

  Or 100/75/60.

  The top Callaway 60 Degree wedge is 75 yards in stead of 80. It takes a few days to get used to the difference but once you do it it a great club. I just checked and almost all the top players use the top Callaway 60 degree at 75 yards.

  In fact, this is the combination I often use : Callaway Mack Daddy 56° Wedge (L95+) [100 yds] + Callaway Mack Daddy 60° Wedge (L96+) [75 yds] + Cleveland 588 64° Wedge (L80+) [60 yds]

  The only reason for it, though, is because there's no Callaway 64° Wedge (50 yds) in the Pro Shop here although it exists in real life. Why WGT not selling it? Well, don't look at me, I've been asking the very same question myself. One of the many WGT practices I cannot comprehend really...

  I've played both distance increments and can make either work, but 100 80 60 is my preferred option because of the increased distance on each short game shot type.  The L80 Titleist spins more and stops better than the 50 yard Max and TM Wedges even with the extra distance.  

  If you're particularly sensitive to meter speed, that's the biggest advantage for the 50 yard full shot wedges.

  Just would throw in here that keeping a 4th wedge in reserve can also be a good move.  You don’t have to make a final decision on which 3 to keep.

  So, for me, that has meant keeping a good 110-yard wedge even though I mostly carry 50/75/100 and my low iron is 120.  I take out my driver and put in the 4th wedge for par 3 courses and for CTTH.

  For some with 60/80/100, the 4th wedge might be 50 instead.

  The key is to remember to switch back to the driver when ready for ranked rounds!

  For those who don't have top end iron sets (which often have low spinning or unpredictable pitching wedges), a 52 degree wedge is nice to have because they are better.  I would love to use my 52 Callaway more, but can't swap out the set PW where it best fits except for the Par 3s which I don't play that often.
