Latest Android update graphics problem

  I've been waiting to see this bug get reported but it's been happening for a week or so and I've not seen anyone else mention it yet.

  Only happened since the most recent update and it's more of a distraction than anything.

  There is an obvious flashy strobing effect... mainly on the player sprite (particularly bad during back swing) and also on the flag and ball.

  I'm getting used to it now so it's less of a distraction but it was very distracting to start with. Doesn't effect the overall game play but would be nice to be back to how it was before the update.

  I'm running the app on an 18 month old Samsung mobile.. android version 5.1.1

  The usual culprits from PC have alibis in this case ;)

  You might try and de-install and re-install the WGT app, and check the free memory of the device.

  Won't even install on my android phone.

  Tried the other day out of idle curiosity, and incompatible hardware..............Phone runs google maps and any other business app (incl skype) / video watching I can think off.....No top end phone, but does what I need still :)........Good luck with your issue.

  This is the 2nd Android phone I've run the app on.. it ran quite well on my older Samsung too..

  I got used to playing on mobile first and then could never (so far) make the adjustment to my laptop.. I find putting is too hard on laptop.

  There's always been a little bit of shading on the players shirt.. but now it's really flashing and patchy. .I will see what the next update brings and maybe try a reinstall.. Not too far of upgrading my phone so I can put up with it for now.

  Ok

  Just did the latest Android update on Thursday... Good news.. with the updated changes and custom design avatars the strobing problem is now gone.

   

  The not so good news following the update is as follows...

  The meter has deteriorated greatly.. now very chunky.. inconsistent and proving very difficult (verging on impossible) to play compared to older versions. Looks like I'll need a new phone to enjoy the game again.

  The new avatars... ummmmmm ... are these seriously supposed to be an improvement ???

  I hope you fix them up because the old original looked pretty realistic.. but the new ones.. dear oh dear.. I've gained about 80 pounds and look more like a rugby player than a golfer... the putting stroke is awful. .almost distracting and the regular swing isn't much better.. I know it's only aesthetics but the game has gone from looking very professional to looking very amateur IMHO.

  I have two tablets, a Nexus 7 2013 model and a cheapo Nextbook with an iNTEL Atom.

  The Nexus ran the game beautifully until this latest update.  Now it's like the game is running 5 frames per second.  The meter is unplayable and the ball rolling on the green stut...tttt..ters...alo...ng.  Sad enough not to enjoy watching the Truvis balls, worse my own puts are giving me motion sickness. 

  Tried it on the Nextbook, game was smooth as butter on there before.  Still is.  It's not half the machine for running a browser or anything else, and the screen and sound make WGT much more enjoyable on the Nexus. (besides the chat is white on white with the Nextbook)

  Nexus is stock Google Android OS, patched, nothing else running except a couple widgets on the home screen.  Shadows turned off, other video options on.  Rebooted, no change.  Uninstalled and reinstalled.  Still stuttering.  .93 GB of 1.8 total memory in use with WGT running. 

  Other players with a Nexus 7 having issues?

  its a change of clothing we really needed not facial changes now we get to play in black very very dreary. and i agree doesnt even look like a golfer ,more like a body builder.  numptys

  I am a CC owner and have several members having issues since the 7/31 update.  In particular Galaxy Tab4.  Anybody else? Have a solution?

  I have the same problem.

  It is a difficult situation to play smoothly.

  Android 4.4 or 5.11 seems to have problems with graphics.

  When I contacted the support team, I received a reply saying I will try to solve this problem as soon as possible.

  Glad to read some discussion about these things.. it's good to know I'm not the only one experiencing some problems.. gives me confidence that some fixes might be getting worked on.

  I've gotten a bit more used to the chunky meter now and getting better results but my putting has suffered greatly... I used to be able to ding the putter about 90% of the time as the meter was smooth and slow.. but now I'd be lucky to get 25% it's too jerky to time the hit..

  Still not enjoying the new avatar but love the idea... I'm sure it will be tweaked in time and look a bit less like Stan from American Dad with the firm and ample buns.

  Love the game.. the ongoing frustrations while working hard to improve just show how close it is the the real thing.
