    Hi WGT;

    I think this is extremely touchy subject.  But it is most important that I report it.  Lately whenever I add a friend to my list my computer goes nuts.  No explanation as to why but it does.   My monitor goes blank, for some unknown reason.  My o/s is maintained and up todate.  I have all the latest drivers installed.

    The same problem also occurs when I play Congressional!!

    I've been jumping through hoops to isolate the cause, everything from ACPI drivers, "ACPI feature fixed button" updates,   rolling back monitor driver to Plug & Play,  disabling USB 2.0 through bios, enabling ACPI 2.0 in bios, enabling vga repost from standby.  Examining ACPI registry entries and doing research to improve stability.  The only thing that has recently changed lately is the update on WGT.

    I use adobe flash 10.3 commercial release.  Here are the settings I use

    • Block all sites from using camera / microphone
    • Block all sites from using peer assisted
    • Disable auto-updates

    Hope this helps

    I guess I am the stupid one here, but when someone posts something like this in the forum you would think that WGT would reply.  Sorry WGT, I love this game, but you definitely need to work on customer service.

    My expectations are high, perhaps to high.  The way I look at it, you are the experts, I am just knowledgeable.  Oh, well, back to the links.  Need to see If I can shoot a 59 at Congressional.

    Did you ever stop to think ...maybe I'm doing to much to "try" and solve a wgt based problem that may NEVER get fixed. OR..get better hardware for yourself. The problems that you descibe I personally never have or, had for that matter. We all deal with the dreaded meter issue, but sometimes that what you do, deal with it. My goodness,all the things your doing to have a smoother running meter, you may want to look at some nicer harware. Good luck with all that man. edge...

    No Shadow, your far from being the stupid one.....perhaps it would have been simpler to ask for an enable/disable mode for our friends list, and/or their activities? But then again, I think we both know the reason(s) for silence.

    As you know I watch my process task manager's cpu usage frequently. And am in the process of your suggestions, but at this time I can't determine results due too playing only a handful of games thus far.

    Regardless though, just wanted to thank-you for your time and sharing here in the forums.

    Hardware:

    ASUS P5LD2 Motherboard with 2 gig Ram interleaved; DDR2

    Intel Dual core 3.0 Ghz CPU with 1066hz FSB

    Nvidia GT 240 with 1 gig of ram

    Philips 24 inch wide Digital monitor;

    O/S:  Windows XP - Pro  optimized for performance.

    Internet;  12Mbs

    I am a type of person who believes that a smooth meter is achievable no matter what hardware you have as long as you meet their minimum specifications.  I also posted sometime back my total CPU load.

    Tee:  3%

    Fairway:  7%

    Green: 30% allow a one count before starting your putting stroke and the load drops to 8%

    Flash settings set to high.

    Do I think my expectations are unrealistic, no, I do not.  Even with a smooth meter, I don't hit the dinger all the time.  Wish I did, which adds to the realism of the game.

    If I think that there is something wrong, or a good product suggestion, I will say something.  Everybody that plays here as a vested interest to ensure WGT excels.   The software is in beta and one should not  accept something when you know it can be better.

    The best way to summarize what I have said would be "Strive for Excellence".

    I'm sure wgt realizes that their program should or could perform much better than it presently does. Also - they are aware of the problems. The "solutution" to this ONGOING problem is the question. WHEN will wgt resolve the meter issue. Everything you have posted in the past I am absolutely sure  wgt knows that these are issue's to be resolved for sure. Again, it falls back on wgt - WHEN will they take some of these suggestions and implement them.

    I read your post originally but I have nothing to add. All the things you did, I have no idea if they will work or hurt your performance. But, from what it sounds, you seem to know what you are doing & talking about, so not sure what I can say will help.

    I am also not sure if anyone can help this issue because the things you mention go above and beyond any support I can offer.

    An honest reply, I appreciate that.  Sometimes, an answer like that, is all, that is needed.  Meanwhile, so far so good, keep your toes crossed.

    I think the moderators like WGTIcon do a really good job of replying to the comments on the boards but they can't reply to each one.  There are 10's of thousands of comments many of which deal with a problem.  I think the best way to ask about an issue is to contact them directly rather than a post that they have to run across in the forums.

    One suggestion that I have is to clean up the forums.  Go in and move threads to the correct area in the forums once in a while.  Shut down the stupid threads, like a guy who posts every single round with a blow by blow of his score.  Let the threads age off after a length of time.
