Congressional, hole 2...21 feet from hole, 10 inches above hole = 11 feet, plus tournament greens...equates to about 8 or 9 foot strength when on green...I go to 10-11 feet strength, ball goes 6 inches.  Can this PLEASE be considered?

    Thanks

And I just hit a putt from the fringe on 11 at CCC.  21' 10" drop. I hit 10 and sank it.  It wouldn't be so bad if it consistently did the same thing.

depends how much fringe there is to cross. you need to up the strength to get your ball onto the green

It's safer to just dribble it with a wedge.

congressional hole 14, ball was less the 5 inches into the fringe, sign on the screen said "ball in the fringe".

i had 21 feet with downhill 11 inches, played my putt for about 6 feet, hit stroke and ball move 1 inch, out of curiosity tried it again with the same result, wtf is the problem with wgt, this seems to have been a complaint for some time now.

it would bother me to have this happen, but it's their damned caddy that's giving me the instruction to use my putter.

I flat refuse to putt from the fringe anymore. Nothing like having my ball get stuck on the fringe to send me on tilt and ruin my round.

To begin with 21 feet downhill 11" is a 10 foot putt. That was your first mistake. Your second mistake was ignoring the fringe, which you did by those calculations (regardless of them being wrong.)  You simply can't ignore that the fringe grabs your putt. You have to allow for this by adding more power. The trick is to know how much.

so, you're telling me that this "realistic" golf game requires me to play more than a 6 foot putt to be able to get the ball on the green.

if i'm 6 inches in the fringe on a real golf course, i know that if i hit a ball to go 6 feet, it's going to go about 5.5 feet.  In this case i had an extreme downhill putt, the ball should have at least reached the green, also consider that i hit the ball twice, for a total gain of 2 inches.

face it, this has been an ongoing problem, and WGT seems unwilling or unable to fix this problem.

by the way, i love the responders who always lay the blame on the individual and not WGT, kind of makes me wonder.

In your example, yes, it should have been hit at 10 feet. Not sure where you got the 6.

Wonder all you want, shoeman, I've been looking at this problem since it was pointed out and don't see a problem. Your 6" into the fringe example IRL doesn't say anything because you are swinging that putter and know just how hard you have to hit it. How many times have you come up way short or rolled way past before you figured out how to hit it IRL? You certainly don't use the same stroke you would if you were making that putt on the green.  You just know from your past  experience. Apply that thinking here and you'll save yourself some grief.

IMO there's nothing to fix. WGT isn't swinging the putter.
