Recently seen a post of lower tier players complaining upper tier ones will not play with them

Three times today games did not go beyond second hole because the lower tier player tour pro quit after making a bad shot all players make bad shots it's just the upper tier ones make less

Problems with playing lower tier players in alternate shot games

     Stop trying to impress anyone

You want to impress people play smart

Stop trying to make shots your skill level or equipment will not let you make it's much better to have a 60 yard shot from the fairway to the green then a 35 yard shot to the green from the deep rough

Take less on a shot if it means a better chance of  keeping it in the fairway

Lower tier players do not seem to take advice very well

Asked one player to come up short on a par five because I knew his equipment he was using would not let him stop the ball on the green  I told him it was easier to chip or flop onto the green

And of course was ignored he hit the green and rolled 100 feet past the hole and then he quit

Position better than length always .

Mind you most new players in real golf are same hit as far possible and never worry where it lands, wonder if any of them have anything upstairs

Even today when I play top-tier players I listen to what they say watch how they play I always figured the only way to play better is to play better players

And when I make a bad shot and I make enough of them I learn from them

When  to go for the green and when  to come up short when to put backspin on it and when not to and lower tier players just don't seem to understand that even when you tell them

Just because you can make the green in 2  doesn't mean you should I would rather have a 3 foot putt for birdie then 100 foot putt eagle I guarantee you I will make a 3 foot putt 99% of the time

This is exactly what it takes to make the best out of your equipment in this game. If you think like a real golfer, know what your clubs are capable of and then play to those positions, your GIRs will go up and your scores will go down. You can compete  if you think this way and know your stuff.  :-)

Here is another tip I give lower tier players

Stop playing lower your average tournaments they make you think you are better than you really are

I guarantee you will not see those conditions when you're out playing alternate shot stroke or any other game on WGT

If you ever wondered why you play good in the cc tournaments but not when playing with the general public on WGT that's why

I personally do not play them

Number 1 reason to belong to a club is that alternate shot games are done with known players. Randoms often bring in players of different ilks that just shouldn't play together. Tier is not the problem. It is attitude. Some people can give advice without being insulting and others can heed advice without feeling they are being talked down to. Then there are the ones that are the opposite. But generally 4 club mates can quickly get beyond these issues because they want to play together; not because they are thrown together.

I think you're wrong  randoms are great it is how I met some of my best friends on WGT

I certainly give advice without being insulting I suggest to my partner shots that would be better than the one that he or she took

When you want to be a player that goes nowhere play with your club mates for the most part they're not gonna tell you what you're doing wrong and how to make it better

And I certainly do not want to talk down to people the advice I give to lower tier players is the same advice given to me when I was in the same place

The only difference is I listened to people who knew better than I

When to do this and when to do that I made Legend  in less than a year playing  ranked games with  players I had no business playing listening to their advice and using it and not one time did I ever think they were talking down to me just the opposite they were glad that somebody asked them questions on how to play
