Putting Swing meter

  Since they upgraded World Golf Tour Beta, I haven't been able to play Kiawah Island course due to the putting swing meter.  What happens is on the first hole, I can hit all perfect shots to the green but once there my putting cursor becomes jerky and I can't stop the swing meter at all, if the swing meter even starts.  It just swings through and misses the ball totally. I've read to turn off the putting grid, clear my cache, exit out of any programs I'm not using, even the printer.  I don't have a memory problem because I have 4 gb of ram, but did what I thought could help to not create a lag.  Is there something else that can effect this program, like in virus protection or something in windows that needs to be enable or disable?  I'm grasping at straws.  Can you help me?

  hi 

  i had the same problem on the putting meter and i tried three different putters,''games booster'  program, de fragmentation, cleared cache, different browser etc.. what stopped the lagging swing meter whilst putting was infact really simple.

  turning of 'putting grid' in the options menu. the grid will still be visible until you take your back swing so you can still read your green before the swing. i also think it makes it that bit more realistic anyway. now i'm not a computer techi by any means but i think that when you begin your swing to hitting the ball, data is being transferred back and forth so having the grid on must be a bit too much data to stop the swing meter being smooth.

  The putting grid uses an insane amount of CPU cycles, even for short putts.

  If you're using IE, try a different browser like Firefox or Chrome.

  Scan your computer for spyware/malware as those items can create unneeded CPU activity along with unneeded tcp/ip connections.

  Open Task Manager and monitor it while playing.   When the CPU usage spikes to over 50%, do not attempt to swing.   Only swing the club when CPU usage is below 50%, otherwise the swing meter will stutter (and sometimes even freeze).

  And if you're feeling really adventurous, try going into the 'processes' in the task manager and setting the priority of the brower (likely the one using the most memory) to above normal.

  I have the same problem. I am using a wireless keyboard and mouse and switched to a Razor gaming mouse. Same problem. The meter is herky jerky and impossible to time it right.

  I have a wireless keyboard and mouse also, but I didn't have any problems at first.  Then all of a sudden, I couldn't play anymore.   I did find that if I put the curcer back on the same plane as the swing meter, I get some kind of a response.  Saying that it trys to work.

  Wow, turning off the putting grid really improved the meter for me. Thanks for the tip!
