    Buckeye

I know how you feel.  I've been thinking of waiting till I hit 60 to pick up the Ping G10 club set and fill it out with Cleveland wedges or holding off to level 64 (I think) for the Taylor Made set.  (opinions folks?) but I'm getting anxious and sometimes it's a tad frustrating when I know if I had just a little more oomph on my clubs I could get a lot closer to the green for my second shot .

And, of course, my putting is abysmal which explains why I can't seem to get below a 74 average.  Oh, and playing at work where my computer stutters and flatulates when it's trying to run the game doesn't help either.

I know how you feel OP...I was in exactly the same boat.  I've been playing this game solid for about a week and a half after originally signing up here back in 08 and have been where you are now.  In the week and a half I've been back I've advance to Pro level with a 67 average all on the starter clubs but was realising after advancing to Pro level, the starter clubs were really holding me back.  So I first upgraded my driver to a R11 which got me closer to the green and a decent Ansah pudder to make me deadly on the green with it's better precision than the starter pudder.  I played this way for a few days, really encouraged with the outcome.  At that point though I was only at lvl 33 I think and had my eye on the lvl48 Raptures for irons but they were so far off.  So I hit level 37 and took the plunge yesterday and bought the Taylor Made lvl 37's.  Played a couple rounds with them to get used to them, then hit the single try at Bethpage this morning..Put in a 32 which was good enough for 2nd...annoyingly though it should have been a 30, I missed to real easy 10 footers that I class as gimmes for my putting ability but completely finger farted and missed the ding lol.

My goal now is to play with these till I hit Master (two tiers) then reassess what I need from then on.  I say just purchase now if you can, if you get into the mindset of waiting, you'l always be waiting for the next thing.  Just buy to suit your tier then move on.

Thats a very sensible reply from TonyTurbo.

I'm panting at the gate waiting to reach lvl 79 and buy the burner irons.

My K15 lvl37 driver is not good enough for master so i know i'll have to change that, but you can get to master with the freebie irons.

Good wedges and a good to average driver will give u a good game all through Tour Pro to Master.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I ended up getting the Rapture set L48. I've had them for about a week. They are very easy to hit and forgiving. I have reached level 54 and am already starting to get ancy to get to level 59 to get the g10 irons. Also the Daytona putter at level 55.

Raptures are very very easy to hit. I typically play with the Sxron ball and hit the ding very frequently. It is a quality set if anyone is eyeing them. thanks for all the post guys.

hey d, i played with the raptures for about 8 months. great clubs and i could always hit them straight with the slower meter.  but i just couldn't make certain shots.  so, i upgraded to the g10s a couple of months ago and they have brought my average down some.  they were difficult at first since the meter is faster but after a couple of weeks, my drives and fairway hits have become much more straight.  there is more backspin and these clubs hit higher in the air so stopping them on the greens is much easier.  good luck

My brother (eligolfer)  has played with all starter things except a wedge (z satin i think) and he has an average of 66 after like 15 rounds. So wait until you reach master is my advice for you and save your credits. Good luck.
