This game can be hugely frustrating when you are not playing to the standards you set yourself.

    It's a good thing I have no standards, I was 5 over after 4 holes in the 2nd round..lol

104 out of 210 players finished the one that Bollox won last year. Ask me how I know.

The Head Greenskeeper asked me not to come back.  :-(

What is the deal with players withdrawing from the open. i dont understand. literally thousands of players try to qualify...lots of players missing by 1 or 2 shots. playing all day to try to make it. Then we see that the excellent players who did qualify are withdrawing because of a "poor" second round.

You'll find that most folks that withdrew did so not because of poor play, but rather because of poor meter performance making it impossible to play their real game.  It took all I had not to withdraw the meter was so atrocious.  11 meter spikes or freezes in round 1 for a 66.  Scraped out a 63 in round 2 but still had 8 meter issues.  Infuriating to have such an important tourney ruined because the meter decides to take a dump.

To make things worse, I had shot 55 on Oakmont and 57 on BPB with very little meter interference just prior to playing the Open.  After 2 top 4 finishes in last year's majors I can honestly say there were little or no nerves involved.  Just crossing my fingers for a fighting chance and decent meter at RSG.

That's not typical for most, Jake. I certainly can't blame my poor performance on the meter at all. You have nerves of steel anyway-it's in your blood.  :-)

    Just sayin'

I WD'd because I was away and unable to get to a computer.  Everyone has their reasons.
