    Hi

    I am wanting to accuratly map the distances of my clubs as I am now using a new ball. To do this I need a hole with a long very flat fairway. Does anybody have any suggestion for the perfect hole to use in practice mode to do this?

    Many thanks

    Nat

    Try Bethpage back 9, or STA ##15, 16.

    I use #1 on Kiawah,  easy to get to.

    Bethpage 10 is a frequently mentioned hole. Set up as practice with low winds, it would be hard to beat that hole for mapping clubs.

    You have to be careful at Kia because on #1 there's a slope in front of the green that tends to shorten actual carry. If you aim left of the green it lands flatter.

    I personally like BPB #12. The backside of the green on #4 is a good place for pitches and punches.

    Most Iron/Ball combo mapping has already been done and I think the numbers are posted in here somewhere...

    Why bother wasting balls mapping them yourself?

    Because the balls changed with the introduction of TMs and Titleist.  :-)

    True...

    So why not just create a post asking for the iron/ball combo you need?  I'm sure someone who has done it already will share the results in a really sweet excel spreadsheet.  To include;

    • Every % for every club FB
    • Same for punch
    • etc. etc. etc.

    Folks on here are STELLAR when it comes to queries like that.  Gotta love the forum for that.  (cuz we all hate the forum for the other nonsensical chit...although some of that does generate a chuckle here and there).

    Do all courses have distance markers in the fairways like this one at Kiawahs first hole?...

    ...I've hit this one before, which would waste a mapping shot.
