Ladychipper: To experience satisfying, profound meaning in life, you must put forth energy and effort to make that meaning. You must invest time, thought, your attention and resources to forge that meaning.
This is my church's Car Care Ministry which was started by a Delta Airline mechanic. We repair cars for those in need...the elderly, the unemployed, recent widows, single moms, etc. etc. etc. And, you don't have to be a member of our church to receive the benefits or volunteer your time to assist us with the repairs. All repairs are free, but, some people make a donation if it's in their means to do so.
We started in this barn 18 years ago doing simple oil changes and brake repairs on dirt floors with hand jacks and jack stands. Now we have full concrete floors with 5 lifts, full air tools, computer spin balancer for tires, a four wheel alignment machine, bearing and shock absorber presses, parts sandblaster, welding machines...you name it...we do it. Besides repairing cars, we've donated over 250 cars too.
We've been on the ABC News' "America Strong" segment, been featured in USA Today, and been the focus of a few local news shows in Atlanta. That has led to us helping people with car repairs across the USA. Oh the power of God and of making meaning through a purpose and one man's vision.
If anyone in the Atlanta area would life to volunteer, or has a car to donate, please drop a wall post to me.
If anyone in Atlanta or around the globe feels compelled to make a charitable donation feel free to ping me too. Your generosity would help countless people and would be extremely appreciated. You can find more info here...Car Care is the 3rd ministry down on the following landing page...
