Just finished up the most ridiculous match of my WGT career, good Lord that was tough. I brought my A+ game, I could not have played any better. Poolmaniac wasn't having great success with his irons, while I was knocking mine stiff, and the ones I didnt hit close I left fairly simple putts. Neil however, was leaving himself 12-15 footers all match, benders, uphill, downhill, it didn't matter, every single one of them fell. I seriously don't recall him missing one single putt he hit, it was a clinic with the putter, every hole I won was due to him missing the green. I had a 2up lead going into the back 9, which he cut down to AS after 13 or 14 I think. The rest of the way was as pressure packed for me as it could be, I knew the way he was putting, I HAD to birdie every hole on the way in or I lose. I got lucky when Neil hit his approach to 17 short and it rolled back down the hill, I literally said out loud "I have a chance here, he cant putt that one" lol. I hit mine to 6ft past the hole for a straight in birdie to go 1up with 1 to play. I hit my best approach of the round on 18 to seal the deal. I played first and from 159yds with a 15mph wind @ 10:00 I choked my 160 club and bounced it up to 2ft for a tap in birdie. Turned out to be a good thing I did as Neil hit his inside 6ft. Thanks for the match Neil, that was as I said, the most intense match I've ever played. I'd love to do it again some time!
Need 1 more for Round 2 to start, if someone signs up in the next couple of hours I'll post the bracket tonight and we can get this show on the road!
