  I like Don's idea, so we'll roll with it since this thing is obviously not filling up as quickly as before. We need 1 more signed up for 40. Not all of last tournament's top 8 are signed up here, SO, all the ones who are will get first round byes, for the remaining 2 spots(I think it's 2), I'll give to the highest finishers of last tournament. IF there are more than 2 in signed up while I'm finding the remaining byes, I will flip a coin. So, 1 more spot and I'll post a bracket.

  btw. Didn't read back to the start so not fully aware of the format so not sure if I'm missing something but If you have 40 entries and give 8 byes then do you not have 24 in round 2?

  Yeah, so I didnt think that one through completely, 40 people with 8 byes isn't going to work. For now, I guess we'll roll with the first 32? Let me know what you guys think...we've got 38 signed up, could just post the latest 6 as alternates and hope for quick completion with only 32? Voice your opinions! lol

  i think that with 32 is faster.... and then you can set up the v4.0

  just my opinion...(usually someone kick me off after the 1st or 2nd round and is boring to wait the end of the tourney)

  Really glad I pointed out the error with 40 entrants now!

  You could go with 40 and give byes to the original 8 plus the next 16 that signed up then have a first round with the last 16 to sign up.

   . . . or if it's 38 then 26 byes and 12 players in the 1st / preliminary round.
