A couple of weeks ago I started having trouble with ball spin control (PC).  I almost always use full backspin with driver, 3W & irons.  I used to be able to drag the dot to the bottom of the ball, let up on the click and the ball would retain full backspin.  Lately, spin has begun changing as the mouse moves.  This is an erratic problem that may occur several times in a row or only once every 2 or 3 holes.  If I catch the error I can fix it by resetting the spin rate and clicking again.  I do not have this problem with any other WGT feature or anywhere else on my PC.

    Are others having the problem?

Could there be something unique to my setup?  I doubt it, since it just started a couple of weeks ago and I haven't changed the mouse or PC.

That might be your problem, especially if it's wireless. :-)

or if it is older and starting to wear.

have you tried the tried and true recommendation of clearing all caches and whatnots?

You betcha.  Every day.  Have even re-booted a couple of times.

    Thanks,

    Joe

Maybe.  2-3 years old.  fresh batteries.  Don't know why wireless connection would matter (PC & mouse are < 4' from wireless modem).  I also don't understand the randomness of it.  Still, it's technology.  Who knows.

    Thanks,

    Joe

After several years of playing with a wireless mouse while regularly putting new batteries in it, I decided to go back to wired. Best WGT decision ever. Response is better and I never have to question if the mouse is the issue when bad things happen. And since all the top gaming mice are wired, you might ask why. No need to spend a bunch, just get a modest priced model and it should help your game. It did mine and I saved on the cost of batteries.

It's not the wireless connection itself, it's the signal that gets picked up by moving the mouse. If your button sticks-like doesn't release instantly because it's worn-you get trouble. That's where the wear shows--laggy response.

Yes, I am. It started back last fall and is intermittent for me. It will stay a few days then go away for a few weeks. You have to be very careful when putting the dot down full back, that you click again to lock in the green color. Otherwise, when you bring the meter back the spin dot goes up with it, moving to red and full top. Can be quite frustrating when you have a good game going and you don't catch it. It has not bothered me in probably two months, but last two days or so it is back.

I've tried several different mouses, currently with a wired gaming mouse that is new this year. Clean caches regularly. Bought my current mouse thinking for sure that my old mouse was the problem, but not. Dunno.

The USB port is typically skipped over when looking for fixes. You might try switching to another one if anything, to eliminate it as a cause.
