I have advocated a system where all winnings, including match play winnings, are included in total winnings, and players can tier up EITHER through ranked rounds+average OR winnings OR a combination of the two.  So when you win X credits, you tier up regardless of level or average, X being a different figure for each tier.  X would be simple to figure... How many credits would a Hack need to gear up to compete at Amateur level?  Let's say 1200.  So, a hack wins 1200 credits through any means, he tiers up regardless.  Of course, the traditional method still would apply as well.

    WGTicon:

Here is my take on it. I realize that some of you may not like, but it's my take.

    1. Rules were not made by me. I just try to enforce it. I try to be unbiased but I do give benefit of the doubt to someone who I know. Does it make me biasted? I don't know but If i knew someone to be cheating, I will be the first to ban them. With that said, assumptions are not facts.

    2. I asked him to pm me the user name cause frankly I do not know who he/she is referring to. I do not patrol the forums LOOKING for folks to ban nor I check every ready go and other tournament, LOOKING to folks to ban. Hence, when reports do come in, we evaluate them on case by case basis. If we do not have clear proof, then that's all.

    3. Of course I understand your frustration but no system is perfect and of course it's possible for someone to stay in the tier below their abilities, but we have rules and a list we have to satisfy before we take action. That's how we can be consistent and not ban on sight or because lizzie talked back to me. For that she will be punished on the course. All kidding aside, I hope you know why I said what I said and as most can tell you I am fairly approachable guy... here or on IRC.

    Take care

I'm with Lizie & Icon, you should be able to mention things here, but Icon is right as well about sending him facts personally, some "sandbagger" who had every single ranked round at 42+ for 9 holes and 83+ for 18, but gave me one heck of a game, both of us birdying every hole, after i challenged him and said,  "how comes you can birdie every hole against me, but in ranked rounds you bogey/double bogey EVERY HOLE?"  His reply was "my 9 year old son is responsible for the high scores, any way who cares?!"  I printed screen as proof of what he said, (about son), sent WGT an e-mail with the facts, and within a couple of days this cheat was banned. As easy as that.  1 less multy account sandbagging cheat out of the equasion.

But without proof its hard to police, some Hack might practice, play matchplay untill they get used to the game, buy beter equipment, then when high enough level start playing ranked rounds. (but a multy account holder would probably do this too, to stop being obvious they're a M.A.H,

The only way to notice them is some are stupid enough to play a ranked round on the first day they join, and post a good score straight away

    Well Said Lizzie!!

Wow, shooting 60 at Oakmont as a Hack is fantastic shooting, I'm lucky to break 70 on that course...lol.  I don't mind anybody shooting low scores, but if these types of scores are winning comps in the lower grades,  well I think it's bringing the game into disrepute.

There must be a system that Wgt can put in to fast track these players into higher grades.

A system that can track all the scores  and not worry about the Magic # of ranked games that need to be played. Maybe, consider what Level they are too.

    Cheers

       Roger

I'm with Lizzie and I hate scummy multi-accounting sandbaggers even more than quitters lol.

To their credit WGT will act if provided with information, but sadly these cheating types seem to be merely sin-binned for a time and within a blink of an eye one of their accounts (at least) is back and thriving..

    que sera sera

Also why I believe once WGT determines someone is multi-accounting, all of that players assumed accounts should be deleted.  If they want to play here, they can start over from scratch.

I sent a profile to WGTIcon of a player that shot a 64 at Kiawah their first ranked round the day they joined.  The following day, a 31 at BPB.  So by the second day, the player had a 63 average over 2 rounds.  I wonder if that player is still active?

Update - The player is still active and shot a 29 yesterday at Kiawah in the Unlimited.  So, the player shot a 64 at Kiawah the day they joined the site, is still shooting sub-30 and 60s.  The profile has been sent to a site admin, and the player is still being allowed to play Unlimited tourneys.

As an added bonus, the player came to my profile and advised me to **** off.  And nothing is done.  Tell me, WGTIcon, do you suppose this player is just a prodigy, to shoot 64 at Kiawah the first round the day they joined?  Why is this player still being allowed to play tourneys?

Some intresting replies, i would send you the accused icon, but i t really wont matter ,hes just the tip of the ice berg, all you have to do is look at the scores going in for the monthly opens, AMETEUR leader is on 59  he might be a pure natural with the hand eye co-ordination of robo cop...LMAO

my estimate after looking thru the comps for the past couple of weeks is that 25% of guys here have dual accounts only my opinion.

what would be intresting is to see what scores theese guys are getting when they've played thier 100 practise rounds.

So if your really honestly keen to clear the game up..........................................................................................................................................................

I would just like to follow up my earlier post by saying that of course any and all suspects should be reported in the manner suggested by Icon- namely via private message and/or email to Wgt. What is so very wrong however, is that we are not allowed it seems, to make mention in public of this cancer that eats away the very heart and soul of this gift known as World Golf Tour, and I for one, will not be silenced while there are still criminal minded individuals at large taking advantage of the vast majority of players.

And there we have it. Vast majority. So it seems these vermin can carry on regardless paying no heed whatsoever to the terms and conditions, while any one with the slightest shred of honour and integrety is to be silenced?

I will not stand about and be told that I may not speak my mind, this lady is NOT for turning, as a great heroine of past times once said, and as such will continue to both air my own views and support others who wish to do the same. I respectfully direct those who suggest this is not the place for such matters, to the heading under which the original post was placed. "Community Help"  which I rather think says so much more about the passion and vigour with which so many of us pursue our interests in this game, such passion and vigour one would suppose any site would be proud to have behind them.

And as far as my punishment goes, then I fear there is nothing anyone could possibly do to punish me further. I already own the Rossa.

    To summarise for the benefit of brevity, tipping a nod to those who think me verbose;

I am against any one or any body who would seek to deny free thought, speech and discussion.

In other news, dogs with wet noses have a story to tell, beware the hound with a red snout.

Jalabar, if you continue to ignore the rules, then how do you expect to listen to you? I said that we do not allow posting usernames here, yet you did so knowingly...

Spino, if you do not send me the names, then what do you expect me to do?

Lizzie, I did not make the rules but I happen to enforce them. I also agree with them. In the end, if you disagree it's fine to voice your opinion and I have read it and know it.
