I understand a Hack shooting in the 50's at Oakmont is rediculous and should be considered "sandbagging" but what happens when an amateur, or pro, or even tour pro starts shooting those scores.  How do you determine if it is officially "sandbagging" or if the player just had an amazing round.  Once WGT starts picking winners and losers I think there is a major problem.

    My 2 cents

the better clubs and balls should only be available to the higher tier players..

its such a simple idea and would work i think. i.e you want the r11 irons then you need to be a legend, you want the burners then  you need to be a tour master.

maybe im wrong i dont know and im not the 1st player to suggest this.

hacks shooting 60s on oakmont is dam right cheating i meen i would be very pleased with that score very pleased indeed...

I don't believe WGT would be picking winners and losers.  I have played a lot of sanctioned USGA amatuer tournaments in the past.  If you enter these handicapped tournaments with, say a 90 average... and you shoot a 74 the first day.... some tournament director will take action.  You will be moved up 1 or 2 tiers for your second round.   So WGT would not be blamed for being bias here... they would just be following the normal rules of handicap tournament golf.

I do not play these free WGT tourneys, much less the RGs and do not even care what another player shoots.  I just think WGT would get more participation and money if they implemented some form of fairness for all players.

I say, let these players shoot those low scores... but move them up a tier when they get ridiculous.  Sooner or later, they will be up to their appropriate tier to match their skill level.

Well said..... I started playing the Tournaments last week but have seen low 60's to my 80 avergae and it has stop me from playing them anymore. I now just do the practice rounds and don't buy anymore  equipment.

Same here, just saw a hack shoot 65 in their first tournament for their third round. Nothing special in the clubs. In fact, a lot of the best scores of the hacks are all from players with little experience that all joined recently with identical equipment.

I don't see the point of spending money to compete against that. Especially when the slider only seems to sometimes work well.

Ok as you can see with the 2 year thread this has been going on for a while. We can help with the slider or the meter. The forums are great for that for tips. You are on virtually the same tees, you can beat them, but you need to put in some work.

If you want, PM me, I'm not a super star by any shape or form, but I can help you fix your computer, give you some tips on getting better etc, it's not a quick fix, but if you really want to improve and beat them, it's doable, but you need to work more play less.

Sorry, that post was an accident.

I was looking into various threads trying to improve my game play and posted in the wrong one. Some of the tips helped as well as trying the vertical slider.

For some reason the horizontal sliders are only stable on my system for 4-9 holes and then they become erratic. Part of that is day of week and time of day I realize.

I also realize now that some people's knowledge of the courses and effects of wind and green slopes give them a large edge on someone who has come into a golf game only recently. No prior experience.

So I have started practicing more and playing less ... so I'm on the right track I guess.

maybe an experienced player starting a new profile..using the practice mode to gain what is needed to accomplish this.
