Since the update I have noticed the swing to be very jumpy causing a lot of hooks and slices.

    Anyone else notice this?

I am running Safari on OS10.6

Hi scoututah, how much RAM and processing speed do you have, and have you followed the recommendations here? http://www.wgt.com/forums/p/635/2552.aspx

Please try turning off your background loading by going to the options menu in the game, and let us know if that helps.

Yeppers. My last two games got really shaky after the first two holes (of nine)... everything on the screen: fade in blinks, rolling markers on grid stutter while setting up putts, swing meter oscillates, and after the ball is hit, there's a brief delay before anything happens... then ball-hit is heard and motion resumes. It's like a "stop-motion video". No notifications about slow loading, although that's been happening, too.

Disconnected/Closed browser/cleared temp files/reconnected and cleared flash cache/ reconnected to WGT... still had the shakes. Running newer quad sys with IE... everything updated to current...

I never had these problems... until after the update. I still have everything optimized: "high quality" video, all the good stuff available for the game is still checked.

Do we have to increase the amount of storage for your flash useage? I think it's 100 right now.

I have plenty of power, 6 GB of Ram and 2 - duel core intel 2.66 Ghz processors.  The same set up I had last week when the game played smoothly.

I will try your recommendations now ...

... doesn't help turning off background loading, still jumpy swing meter, not having the other issues the posters are having below, just not a smooth swing making it hard to judge and making a great game not worth playing anymore.

Please don't clear cache more than once after a product update. This will slow down performance because your system would have to re-download all the large assets each time. Please try playing through a couple of times after clearing your cache and let us know if the performance improves. Thanks

    Alex -

I've not had any further problems with the meter, loading, or screen flashing, other than the occasional "normal stutter" in the meter once-in-a-while... I don't know what happened. Coincidentally, only difference is I only had www.wgt.com in my pop-up "allowed sites" but after I added "*.wgt.com", the "flashing graphics" cleared-up. I would occasionally get the "This site needs popups enabled" dialog box, but haven't since.

    Here are my system "specifics":

    • Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
    • 6GB ram
    • Dell 1909WX monitor on ATI Radeon HD3650 (1440x900 resolution - 60Hz refresh rate - Dedicated memory: 256MB - Avail.Graphics Mem: 3071MB)
    • Vista Home Premium (64bit) 6.0.6002 SP2 Build 6002
    • Cable Hi-Speed Broadband
    • IE 8.0.6001.18828
    • McAfee (updated regularly)
    • Wired Optical Mouse
    • Flash 10,0,32,18 - cleared cache after updates - 100KB storage
    • Cookies Enabled - "always allow" in per site privacy settings
    • www.wgt.com and "*.wgt.com" in popup "allowed sites"
    • Disk cleanup runs regularly (Once per week when offline)
    • Temp Internet Files cleared regularly (At least once/week)
    • Putting Grid Enabled again- found that it disabled itself on more than one occasion - I didn't disable it manually... does it default to "disabled" automatically if there's a problem?
    • Background loading enabled again - tried disabling it to no avail during problems.
    • Sound: On

If you see anything that is "less than optimal" with my setup, or need further information about it, please reply with suggestions to improve it.

    Thanks

none of your "tips" decrease meter lag, its a problem with the game/servers

The tips definitely help. Your spamming the forums by posting everywhere that they don't help, won't change it.

For example, whenever I close the original browser window from which I launched the game pop-up window, my shot meter instantly becomes smoother. The same goes for closing all unnecessary applications running on the computer.

You see, one of the things I get paid for is tech support. One of the most common experiences all tech support personnel is familiar with is that users rant & rave, fuss & fume, instead of following a set of simple hints on how to alleviate their issue. Oh, they'll say that they tried "everything you suggested to me", but in fact they didn't. They vent their frustration instead, blaming everyone except oneself. And then, when you go over the check-list with them, verifying every recommended item one by one, you usually find out they skipped over a vital point or two.
