Pugs, you wanna leave the putting grid off probably.  That's a source for a lot of stutter on the greens (and especially so in multi).

By turning the putting grid to OFF, you aren't actually turning it off.  The grid will still be displayed while you are lining up your putt.  Once you begin the backswing, the grid disappears completely.  I'd also recommend leaving the background loading off.  That should help you a little bit at least.

Thanks nivlac, I'll try playing w/o both features again. They seem to be a known problem with the game... wonder why they're even offered, if this is the case... oh well...

    PugsAce:

Thanks nivlac, I'll try playing w/o both features again. They seem to be a known problem with the game... wonder why they're even offered, if this is the case... oh well...

With all the "Monday trimming" of the unnecessary/inflammatory/offensive posts over the weekend that the moderator did to help this thread, I'm surprised, but glad, that most of it survived. However, one of my explanatory posts didn't, and was deleted - by mistake, presumably - so I'm reposting it below (from my email notifications):

    PugsAce:

I tried 4 or 5 rounds in CTTH and stroke play with BOTH putting grid AND background loading OFF and had NO jumpy meter problems whatsoever! None... zip... zilch!

I seem to inanely have been trying disabling them seperately before, for some odd reason... duh!

[nivlac...] thanks for awakening my brain cells... :]

p.s. Not much of a wait for loading next hole, and I actually like the putting grid "disabled" more.

I've 're-introduced' it to the thread because I think it might be a valuable tip for those that may have had the same 'cerebral flatuence' that I inexplicably suffered... :/

thanks again, nivlac... btw... I've still yet to suffer any 'lag' after turning both of them OFF.
