    hi

i like many many others are getting dismayed at some of the ridiculous scores in the low 50's. We are getting to the point off not entering tournements because of this and i for one will not resort to methods which will enable me to score that low. the big claim of wgt is that it is the most realistic golf game around i hardly thing shooting low 50's is realistic.

What methods are you referring too?  Playing 12 hrs per day, learning every course, every shot?  Living and breathing WGT and golf in general.

When all said and done its a game, it takes the ability to aim, judge distance, and click a mouse.   Real life golf swings have 100's of mechanics involved.  So good luck out there!

    Cheers,

Since people have bought the new burner irons, you can use long irons like wedges, they're as accurate as that.....that's why scores are getting lower

That deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean golf ball! "Living and breathing WGT and golf in general." A little over the top! There is life beyond a computer game. Your statements sound like you are lost in an imaginary world where you reign supreme.

Terbal ( and everyone else that complains about this not being "realistic"),

     Bogey is absolutely right.

A little math & eye-hand coordination and learning the courses is all this really takes. Your avatar NEVER looks up, always has a perfect swing plane, never seems to hit a little fat, or thin, never tries to flop a shot on the green and blade it all the way across. His/her form is perfect.. elbow is nice & straight, doesn't break the wrists. You just don't get that IRL, and I don't see how all the little variables could possibly be programmed into a game... and that's just concerning the swing.

Add in real life winds that gust or die or swirl around or are just different from tee to green. Throw in some truly variable rough( fairways & greens for that matter). Yes, they all get mowed to the same height, but grass doesn't grow evenly...sometimes not at all, judging from a couple of my local courses.

What it takes to shoot low here is just practice. The really good players can tell you pretty much exactly how far each club in their bag will carry & roll (depending on the wind) for a full swing, or minus 2 avatar moves, with full/ partial backspin or topspin.

I'm sure the "other methods" you refer to are cheat programs .... very PC way of saying that anyone better than you MUST be cheating. That's a total BS way of looking at things. IMO, there's absolutely no program out there that would help you to shoot in the 50's/low 60's. Big deal if there MIGHT be something out there that will let you ding every shot. Dinging your shot is pretty small percentage of what it takes to shoot low.

Those players all have the new 4d computers. They can actually touch the greens with their own hands and feel the wind in their hair to make sure it is really 19mph and not 5 or 30mph. They have those gps whatchamacallems and real beer carts. Just doesn't seem fair. And I was told that YJ has SM running next to his ball and kicking it where he wants it to be. Rank has it's privileges.

This may be true Ahsiab, but in answer to the original post, what you see as "over the top" is actually a more than fair answer and benefits from honesty rather than being disingenuous or flippant as one might be led to suppose your own answer was.

The inference in the OP that in order to achieve scores at Wgt in the low fifties must perforce involve some of form of cheating is obvious, but does not benefit from a true appreciation of all facts leading to such notions.

When someone hands to you on a platter the very wherewithal to actually go ahead and achieve these results, one might prosper less ill by either putting that invaluable knowledge to practical use, or resigning oneself to the backwaters of fair to middling play from where it could be guessed you currently reside.

Where it may be true to you that there is life beyond a computer game, I do not see an acceptable connection between that and your lacklustre effort to belittle someone who enjoys a passion for his or her chosen past time. I note with interest your reference to reigning supreme and can only suppose that that is a sobriquet that you yourself have bestowed upon the poster, since I see no reference within that post to suggest it was claimed in any way in the actual post.

Notwhithstanding all of the above, it would be churlish to assume a defensive posture in regard of ALL low scores being achieved by fair play alone and the lie to this can be found by looking at the unrestricted qualifying rounds as against the finals where each player may only record one effort at a time. It would be reasonable to expect some one who was cheating to be able to sustain low scores in all events, whereas the pudding, if it needs proving at all, does not show this among the best players here on this site. One scenario that might preclude a cheater from winning an event such as this by means foul however, could be that their true identity would by necessity be revealed, which may not entirely tally with the identity they have taken pains to promote throughout their Wgt experience so far. I suspect that this would not do at all. Not at all.

To exceed at anything in life you need to go over the top.  Not a hard concept.   The best are the best cause they work hard at what they do.  Here or in any life instance.   When am not playing WGT I can usually be found with my family or out on the real course.

    Have fun out there,

I believe that the majority of people posting scores in the 50's are genuine and are able to achieve this by the following:

    1. Ability

    2. Ability

    3. Ability and more ability

    4. Dedication

    5. Dedication

I also believe than some people should lighten up when posting a reply. All in all it is only a game, a computer game. This is not even close to a real game of golf, other than the graphics. The "VEM" kills everything. When I golf at a real course the game is not readjusted to ability or equipment. Here it is. The games has your ID number and adjusts the conditions. I don't know of any real courses that are able to do that. Do you? How is that real? Change clubs and watch the load time. The game should be what it is, a game. We pay for clubs and balls to slow the the meter but the meter speed changes from game to game. Why is that? I pay cash for a product that is not consistently delivered. That is either a bad product or fraud. The wind accuracy is horrendous to say the least and recently the greens show minor movement when there is none. Yet, we always have the WGT horn tooters saying it's you, your connection, or your computer.

Sorry, back to the topic. If there are "cheaters", so what?

Have fun with both, your family and the game, but have more fun with your family.
