    Nivlac,

Excellent post.  I just started playing and struggle the most on the green.  This was very helpful.  Only one question.  How many green speeds are there?

Thanks walter, i suspected this to be the case ,a recent thread confused me though, a wgt player was quitting and he was offering his equipment to someone deserving) the recipient then posted a "Thank you for the driver" on the leaving players profile.

He must have purchased the driver as a gift , just like you said .

Calculating Putts: PART I BASIC CALCULATIONS FOR STANDARD SPEED GREEN.

    1. Watch the video on WGT on how to putt in order to learn how to adjust for left and right according to grade.

    2. Subtract distance to hole from putter strength:  Example:  Putter Strength = 25  Distance to hole = 10 feet  25-10 = 15. new distance to hole.

    3. Adjust rise/fall as noted on flag in inches.  Be sure to look carefully: IE it could say 2 feet down.  You must convert feet to inches.  So 2 feet x 12 = -24 inches.

    4.  In This example we will be dealing with inches: we have a fall of five inches.   -5 inches Now multiply rise/fall in inches x 1.3.  So (-5) x1.3 = (-6.5).

    5. New hole distance is 10 feet + (-6.5) or 10 - 6.5 =  3.3 feet to the hole.9NEW DISTANCE)

    6. To determine the amount of strength to use, divide new distance to hole by putter strength EXAMPLE

    3.3 divided by 25 = 13% of 25.

I WILL BE POSTING PART II SOON, HOW TO ADJUST FOR FAST AND VERY FAST.  (Note: I prefer not to use slow greens)

Actually, I play mostly on Tournament (TM) greens, and if I had a 10 footer downhill 5 inches, I would probably hit it about 3.5 feet...
