    shing1:

    so the question is - is it possible or impossible in any way to reduce the VEM or control it?

    can any one answer this question?

    if u cant answer it dont reply n if u can then great, thanks

    Pete, I don't think personal VEM is on but as you do this (from the patent) is how it would work if it was.

    if the change indicates that the user's skill level has increased, decreasing a sweet spot for a variable of the virtual equipment model; and if the change indicates that the user's skill level has decreased, increasing the sweet spot for the variable of the virtual equipment model, where the sweet spot is an area of a curve for the variable where the area is based on a degree of deviation from an ideal value for the variable.

    So if you were playing well the sweet spot gets smaller, play badly it gets bigger.

    The answer seems simple, play badly before playing a round you really care about.  Say you were in the real bit of the VUSO play badly before the first round and between each round and get positive vem in the tournament.

    You would have to (or someone who thinks it's on would) work out the optimum of what playing badly actually means, how badly? How long? etc.

    ok dodgy thanks.

    that does make more sense than anything else said so far but not enough..:)

    so the top player has a practice rd n plays below par, so instead of shooting his 27 he shoots a 30, so now his averages should be dropping if he has to do this before every game. yes?

    but he now should be able  to shoot his normal 27/54 if he plays well then, yes?

    but why can i or other players have a rubbish rd n then go out n birdie the whole f9 n not able to make a shot or putt on the b9 even tho they are still playing well???

    all im saying is if i/we could turn the VEM off somehow,  i/we wouldnt have the shots that spoil rds, i/we  would be playing at our own ability all the time!!!

    so is it possible or not?

    Yes, it's possible to turn the VEM off (since you don't take 3 minutes of your time to do a little search). I can put you in 3' 5-10 threads about VEM. Have you even read the patent to understand what vem is and how it operates or you are just rude by nature? All of us rest of ''donkeys'' who have spent hours and hours on the issue, investigating, taking hundreds of practice shots, recording rounds, comparing results, trying to explain things, we are just time wasters cause we can't answer you with a simple ''yes'' or ''no''!!!

    @Yiannis1970

    Classic case of one can explain it to people but cannot understand it for them.
