Do you all really hate making custom course tournaments?

    _CHAMPION

No, Bridgestone sure doesn't hate them.  We recently updated ours and created a new one.

Please don't scrap them, this is a reaction to something being taken away.  The fact that that something should never have been given out is currently being overlooked by many.

Careful Champ... I would hate any negative response to lead to Custom Course builders being removed.

We at Grande Oaks, use the Custom Course builders to create very challenging courses. It helps break up the same ole same scenarios.

I personally would hate to see the Custom Course builders fall by the wayside.

Well this will also mean there won't be any more custom course builders sold.  There is no reason for them if the XP bonus is gone.

    No, they're fun....playing one now.

Just pointing out that the majority were bought to take advantage of the glitch.

Custom courses are great and even better with a nice bit of XP points on the next round.

You mention the super pass exploit if indeed there is one that should definitely be dealt with, but the xp is something that wgt members have come a custom with and as far as I know was part of the game.

People have purchased the Premier and plus membership and will be feeling somewhat let down by the lack of xp they will now receive.

    Cheers

FAPC likes custom courses well enough, but the real draw was the EXP "glitch" especially for our lower tier/lower level members, so that they could get better equipment faster. And, with the huge (200 million points!) difference between level 19 club and level 20 club, the EXP came in handy there, too. I foresee much less interest in my club for Clash participation because members used to routinely insert a Custom course between games and because the general membership felt like the course builders were important for our club to win (such that we played extra hard to get below 50th place for the 2nd one, when we easily can get below 100th place and get 1 plus the tee markers). Custom courses less important = less playing overall, not just Clashes, for that matter.

If you want to revive interest in custom courses, how about letting us put the same hole in more than once? There are certain holes we would like to practice alot and hold club tournaments on. Like putting up 9 or 18 of BethPage #15, lol! Really.

LOL the amount of people that get caught up in the "value" of XP's amaze me.

XP's are meaningless IMO. As a player or CC attains a reasonable level, the benefits are negligible.

I would purchase a Custom Course to make an exceptionally difficult course, one that challenges even the best players, yet you see many CC's design red tee, easy courses simply to exploit the XP glitch.

WGT will not get rid of them, as I believe there are enough CC's that want to continue to challenge their members and offer some variations from the stock standard courses.

p.s. I have not read this entire thread - I saw the title and pissed myself laughing - Clash and Emergency.....LMFAO just too funny - those two words in the same sentence....hahaha

Also, I hope the stupid and very frustrating awards that go along with this bug have been fixed - that is a frustrating waste of time with meaningless junk awards being awarded at the end of a game.

A whole course of the same hole?  Hmmm, that could be, interesting?  Frustrating?

Sure as hell worth a go though.

Wow, I think it's fabulous that wgt thinks so much of us, the consumer, that they went out of their way to make our holidays so nice. Reminds me of a Christmas story, where as, a big company goes all out to save us money, and make it a "wonderful life". They fixed the country club glitch, which now makes it alot harder, and longer for people to purchase better equipment, and not spend their money. Without the glitch, they now play less games, saves them money on golf balls. Without the glitch, there is less need for the great clash prize ,of a course builder, to use for the glitch. This means that we no longer need to purchase cc passes in the clashs, saves more money. Since we aren't playing as much, if any in clashs, there is no need for us to spend money , purchasing cc passes in the turf wars, to win a superpass, and worthless coins. Saves us even more money! Without the glitch, no need to buy the plus, or premier packages, saves even more money, yes, long and short of it, saves us money, which truely makes it a wonderful life. Thank you wgt for putting the consumer first. Let's just see what just one person saves, plus program, 90.00, 10.00 to 15.00 every clash for cc passes, times twice a month, 5.00 to 10.00 every turf war, times maybe 3 per month. Maybe 40% savings on golf balls, due to playing less. It really doesn't matter, what course builders were designed to be used for, it's how they were used, and what the benefits were for wgt, and the consumer! Let's see how long things last, before another change comes across the board. Happy holidays to all

We're definitely not scrapping them. I think they're fun and I'm trying to get them to build me a tool so I can make them as public tournaments for everyone. Whenever that day comes I also want to involve the forum community in sending me their favorite custom courses that they've built so we can make tournaments using your setups.

I've received a number of angry messages today about this, so my response had a little more frustration in it than needed. It was still an honest question as I thought for sure people liked the feature as intended and not because it was bugged.

Thanks for letting me know that people do actually like custom course tournaments.

The fix for the xp exploit was fixed in the downtime last night. Now you can only earn awards once as intended.

Thank you for fixing this and the Superpass exploit.

But I have a question:  Now that the XP exploit is fixed, is WGT considering any new methods for players and clubs to earn XP faster?
