2nd round Match between myself and Seveking . ... Seve gets the win 2 & 1.

Seve jumped out to the early lead. Then I missed chances to square it up on 11, 12, AND 13 . Finally caught him on  15.. almost identical 2nd shots and missed birdie tries. Unfortunately, his par putt slid by ...AS.

Lost ball on 16 killed any chance I had there, so I was chasing the king again. We got an 18 mph tailwind on 17, and the best either of could do were 40 footers for bird ... I missed, Seve dropped the bomb to win the match.

Vgg Seve ... it had been a long time since we've played  .. it was a real pleasure.. gl in the next rounds.

My match with MaxCjejka is in the books. We played Oakmont front. Great guy and he started hot, making a birdie from 10 feet on one. After I watched my 5 footer slide by on one and driving my tee shot on two into the ditch, I was concerned.  However, I saved my par and Max got stuck above the hole and eventually 3 putted. Then tough drives put him in trouble on the next two holes and I got on a birdie streak to end it 3&2. Enjoyable match.

Thanks speed. I think it was a little beyond "squeak"...lol. speedy is an outstanding player. I have played my fair share of wgt Greats, but speedy definitely put on a showing today winning very graciously and by a fair margin a may add. Win or lose, I just enjoy the company playing with gentlemen of the game and speedy is definitely a gentleman of the game. Thanks speed.

Played my 2nd round match with Bidi this afternoon on the back 9 at Bethpage, winning 1up.  Bidi jumped out to an early lead with a laser-guided approach from 200+ on the 10th, but a few errant tee shots put him down 1 after the 12th.  I missed an opportunity to gain another on the par 5 13th, flubbing a wedge short of the green from 50yds, and we both settled for par.  On the horrendous 15th, Bidi hit an incredible approach, getting within 3ft.  I didn't have a shot of even reaching the green on my second shot; AS with 3 to go.  I got the stroke back on the next one, then pars on 17 and birdies on 18, and I got the 1up win.

Thanks to Bidi for the great game.  He is an excellent player, and a pleasure to play against.

Bigsaur just gave me a big golf lesson - he won 5&3.  He played very well and putted like a true champ.

Good luck with the rest of the tournament.

    Cheers
