  I have been asked about the draw for the knockout stages,nigel has been working hard on this but there is a rough guide to who will be playing who in the knockout stages.

  What do you mean by "rough guide"?

  Why not make it simple and follow the draw through as you have done previously?  Last year 1st in group 1 played 4th in group 2, 2nd played 3rd etc.

  The world cup in Russia had eight groups of four, two qualifiers in each group (again group 1 plays group 2 etc), why not use that?  I think it's designed so teams from the same group can't meet again before the final.  I'm sure Nigel will do a great job but FIFA have already done it.

  rough i meant as not put onto the spreadsheet yet,that is how the knockout has been done by nigel .

  i trust him and it was done last month well before the comp started,

  just looking at the draw,i cant see where any teams from the same group will meet before the final can you?

  i see it now two teams from group 1 are in the same half

  i will have to see about changing that one if i can

  we need to swap group 4 second with group 8 second in the knockout stages,does anyone object with this or do we leave it as it is and go with what we have.

  it needs to be done before the next round starts so dont be shy

  If there is one instance of this in the top half there has to be another in the bottom, but i'm not going to look as that wasn't really my point.

  There is a usual way for doing these draws I just wondered why an unusual one was suddenly adopted.
