    has anyone come up with another chart like this or updated this one?

    Yes, after months of thorough scientific testing and the help of hired consultants, I distilled all the data into this highly accurate formula:

    wind speed               effect

    0-5 mph                   a little

    6-10                          a little more

    11-15                        careful

    16-25                        whoa

    25+                            hold on to your hat / visor

    40+                            WD

    LOL funny

    lets make it easier...

    60% of wind = yardage.. EG: 150 yards + 10 MPH downwind = 156 yards

    at least that's what I do... it's not perfect, but close... (I think)

    I do agree that there are sometimes variables...

    Make sure to calculate the elevation of the target FIRST. That has a huge effect on the effectiveness of the wind as well...

    Just my humble observation ;)

    My 2 cents worth, which is actually only worth .58 cents according to the following chart;

    X=cents worth in my own mind

    Y=actual cents worth

    Y=X(.58)

    ......is, the wind always blows and sometimes it even sucks.

    Now, can we whine about the meterrrrr?

    just sayin'

    d.  :)

    (no copyright on the above chart...feel free to cut and paste)

    How in the heck am I suppose to make heads or tails out of those winds speeds if I don't use meter tape? There isn't any wonder Genorb plays as well as he does being he's an actuary. : )  j/k

    I agree with Jim and his posts all the way on this. The game isn't this complex that people need to use slide rules, T-squares, and protractors to play the game with any success. I do fine playing the game and knowing where 50% power, and 90% power is on the meter bar.

    Could any of the better players play this game without meter tape?

    I am sure no one with any skills will answer this question.

    Player etiquette in this game should be whether a player is using meter tape or not. Its a clear advantage.

    I've never used any meter tape or overlay help meter of any kind. Ever. I've played the game with the way WGT set it up using avatar movements and adding or decreasing spin on the ball.

    Do I have etiquette? Do I have skill? You tell me since you're so sure about everything else.
