The number of timeouts left means the number until your DQ'd; he had one timeout left and used it, thus resulting in the DQ.
I looked over the official rules for the eTour event and it doesn’t specify how many “Timeouts” each player is given. Also not sure if the 8 participants were given a specific number before event with regards to timeouts.
I guess my issue would be more with the in game warnings and more specifically the wording given during a match.
When a player used their first 4 timeouts the message they received said “One Timeout Remaining”. My interpretation of that would be that I can still timeout one additional time, and any timeouts after that additional one will result in a DQ.
If the “One Timeout Remaining” warning actually means that a player is DQ’d on their next timeout, then it probably should rather say “No Timeouts Remaining”
