You are more than welcome Jake. I still haven’t read what what Don was referring to, and it’s none of my business. Just glad we could get over it.
You can play by feel and still use some basic “rule of thumb” math in your head.
- Uphill elevation: Add a 1/3 of the elevation to the distance. Some add half.
- Downhill elevation: Subtract a 1/4 of the drop elevation from the distance. Some subtract a 1/3.
- Aiming: Move the aiming grid on your approach shot opposite of the wind indicator. Each grid equaling 5-yds with half backspin. (My thing only, may not work for everyone. Will not work with FBS.)
- Putting: counting the speed of the dot flow and doing a simple conversion. Lots of videos on that. Young46 has the best video for doing that on mobile.
Again, this is just rule of thumb ideas and not precision golf.
