Playing 'nearest the hole' at Bahli, hit a shot from fairway onto green but game says i took ball out of play. This means i have now got one less ball. I PAID FOR THESE - NOT FAIR!!

    hi

balls have durability as shown  at the buttom right hand corner. once it is used up, the ball is taken out of play.

I dont think he was talking about durability.

I bought Srixon balls.. paid 200 odd for it.

Played Kiawah 9-hole, and ball goes into the weeds. I get a message saying

the ball is lost, so i used up one ball. Lost one more ball in the same way.

It was a brand new ball as well.

To be honest, it's not fair at all.

Guess i wont be buying any balls from them again. Or at least they reverse this silly law.

    hi

seems like 2 different cases. yours was a lost ball, which means it was hit out of bounds of the game.

This has happened a few times to me. I hit a ball, it lands in the weeds / bushes, and it's 'taken out of play'. It's one thing if it goes into the water, but in weeds / bushes shouldn't there be some chance I could find it again ( like on a real course )?

The last time it happened to me, I was playing Kiawah, 3 mph wind, blowing slightly to the left. Lined up my tee-shot for the centre of the fairway, dinged it, and the ball still went to the right and into the weeds. I've deinfitely noticed some shots going in a different direction than I thought it would, even with light wind and a ding...

Exactly my point. WGT has made it so that a ball in the weeds becomes a lost ball. I suggest that this should not happen, and instead give the players a drop shot ( one stroke penalty), as is the case with a free ball. Why have 2 rules for the same game? Rgds,

In reality, what WGT calls "weeds" at Kaiwah, is actually a Tule area, and no way you'd ever find you ball in there.  Noticed this in the "making of Kaiwah" video (real course, not WGT).

We'd all probably feel better if the "weeds" were called something else.

Dont think ball in weeds should be lost if its not at least halfway down the ( wear meter)some of the shots are outrageous, missing the ding slightly sends ball careering off limits. At least we wouldn't feel so ripped off!

At very least weeds area (tule = ?)  should be a hazard. So ball-lost-in-hazard rule should apply = drop 1 penalty (not return to where you hit from).

In fact, I seem to recall red pegs along there... must look next round. Anyone know? (Red = hazard, white = OOB)

Also: random chance of "finding" your ball = 20% so you get the occasional pleasant surprise [good will, WGT, good will :)]. But still a drop b/c unplayable.

As for wind deviation - separate issue.
