chrisironsbones:I think the new pins are in ranked rounds, but for higher tiers they stay the same, only lower tiers get the new easy pins, but if you play a practice round, you can choose them.
From what I've seen, Chris, the new pins do come up in ranked rounds for high-tier players, on a fairly random basis, but as Icon has explained elsewhere the mix is slanted toward the more difficult pins. (This is not to say that the new pins are necessarily easier - most of them seem neutral.) If you play a practice round and select easy, medium or hard, either way you will get a mix but it is only weighted towards easier or harder locations - you cannot for example select to practice 'easy' and automatically get all of the easiest pin locations, or vice versa.
