I just played the E-Open. I got the notice that I entered the venue but not the notice that I received the free ball. I have a MasterCard ball in my inventory but I thought I had it from a previous tournament. Has anyone else seen this or not seen this?

I believe you are correct -- it did not show up in my inventory either.

Yep...they forgot couple of things. A) The ball, B) to include 186 countries more.

...and C) to come up with a coherent set of rules.

"Finals Live Stream:  The top 2 eligible players will advance to the Finals Live Stream where they will play eighteen holes in stroke play format and will be required to stream their game play.  Each player will be challenged to get the ball into the cup for each hole in the fewest strokes. The number of strokes taken to get the ball into each cup, plus any penalties, will be recorded for each entrant. When entrant completes all seventy-two designated holes in the Finals Live Stream, the number of strokes plus penalties are totaled and comprise the entrant's final score."

What on earth does this drivel mean??!! You can pretty much guarantee it will be matchplay, not strokeplay, and therefore may not be 18 holes. It certainly won't be 72 holes as is also stated! And you can be sure they'll make it EA-only, with less than a week's warning, though they might then backtrack at the last minute and allow a mobile stream too because it looks similar to EA and they think you won't notice.

The quoted section is simply a slightly edited copy+paste from the VUSO rulebook:

"Finals Live Stream:  The top 10 eligible players will advance to the Finals Live Stream where they will play eighteen holes in stroke play format and will be required to stream their game play.

Granted, they managed to change the number of players from 10 to 2 here, but failed to correct the mistake with the seventy-two holes and also falsely kept the stroke play part in. In the first paragraph of the e-Open rules it's stated that it will be a match play competition.

Still, they got 1 out of 3 correct. Given that we're talking about WGT here, I'll count that as a win :)

P.S. I can understand the frustration of the non-eligible players. It has always been bad not being able to win the prize, but at least in the past (before the live streamed finals) everyone was able to compete and call themselves VUSO winner, like Andivo last year. Did WGT ever give any explanation for why so many countries are blocked? The eTour doesn't have the same issues, seems strange.

Being an Indian, i will talk about my Country n this WGTLAND Theory of illegal n non eligible which is running for years n years.

As far as India is concerned, there are no laws that prohibits an Indian from participation or winning prizes.

Let's move to the extreme scenario of so called WGT's perspective of being illegal n not eligible.

In India, games are classified into two:

Game of Chance n Game of Skill.

As WGT falls under "Game of skill" category n as per "PUBLIC GAMING ACT of INDIA" it is not illegal, banned or prohibited.

Information Technology Act of India do not ban, prohibits or considered as illegal as well. Once there was a case approached to the court n it wasn't even considered.

By Licit, every year, we make at least US$60 billion from Gambling.

Now these are the reasons why E-tour never had any issues especially with Indians.

As we are now in mud with gambling, being illegal, gaming laws and thus a little more explanation. Now there are two main activities that are illegal in India.

    A) Casino Gambling B) Online Trading

In case of Casino Gambling n South India being the key port of this business, license are allowed n thus legal as well. Only the company has to worry about it not the players involved.

In case of Online trading, if you are on a due process with an abroad establishment, you need to get a license for the same. It is because under "RBI Rules n Regulations", it is considered as illegal where banks decline payments or deposit in anyway.

By the way, we have a solution for that too. All it requires is a legal account where you pay 3 dollar fees with your voter id n Voilaa... Now Online Trading is also legal in India. (I been through this process)

Lastly, if WGT having troubles with Payments, then "E-Wallet" facilities are available as well which is legal under F.E.M.A. Now suppose if WGT says, we have trouble n it is illegal to transact US dollars and considered as illegal, then transaction in INR is 200% legal.

Now the funny part is, India still remains in part of being illegal n not eligible in regards to "WGT GAMING"

If WGT and the involved Establishments made a decision to exclude us, then it is what it is. Done n Dusted.

End of the day, it is your business n your decisions n thus "Not Eligible"

We are known as "The Most Populous Democracy in the World" for a reason.

Varun, you are wasting your time. Have done this 2 years ago. The official response back then was that certain countries are blocked cause they don't allow gambling. I posted all the coherent legislation of my country regarding gamble, proving that there was not any problem whatsoever about eligibility. I received the usual answer: Silence.

My guess is WGT doesn't even want to look into each country case by case as far as the matter is concerned.

It's kinda understandable in a way since it's much simpler and easier (and cost-effective) as a solution to simply avoid and block all the countries, states and regions they believe or judge they might face legal litigation, rather than looking thoroughly for any violation of each country's gambling regulations.

C'mon, guys... It's typically à la WGT. You should know better by now. :-/

It's a bit contradictory what you state Simon. In order to identify some countries as eligible, they have already done their homework concerning the legislation of these countries. It's not like they received letters from Canadian or Korean parliament regarding gamble.  So, denying the access to the rest of the world, has nothing to do with their fear to face legal disputes (i guess wgt has a legal department as well...), but only with plain and simple will to exclude 186 countries with no further reason/bother.
