do you want the ball to go exactly where you aim each and every time? do you expect the ball to land exactly where you aim every single time . . . . do you expect to birdie the hole every single time . . . or perhaps and eagle . . . hole in one?
it wasn't the intent of chad nelson to create a tiger woods online invironment, in which you can control the flight of a golf ball in mid-air and shoot in the mid 30s. they simply wanted to replicate real life golf for the web. ok, i know that some players here have shot in the low 50s and that's just out of the realm of being realistic. but did you know that real life pga players have shot in the upper 50s? i'd say the scores here are much closer to real life scores than in any other online golf game out there.
how many times have you been watching the final round of a pga tour tournament on sunday afternoon and noticed one of the pros miss a short putt? they have this look on their face as if, "how did that not go in?" sometimes the look on their face is of astonishment. they sit there and wonder how the ball did not go in the hole. or what about hitting 170 yrds out and then end up in the bunker? they have the same disgusted look on their face and wonder why the ball flew in the sand.
i'm sure the pros get disgusted as well and many a putter have been thrown in lakes, small ponds, windshields of cars parked nearby on the 18th hole or whatever. so relax and accept the fact that you can't hit the perfect shot and get the perfect result every single strike of the ball. well . . . maybe there are a few exceptions like bollox. i used to think cheating was going on after seeing some of those scores. but then one day, i shot a 62 on oakmont. and then a 61 on kiawah. and then i became a believer that low scores are possible and you can eliminate that margin of error with practice. i have a good example for you. let's take st. andrews #11, the par 3. you are 185 yards out, with a 15mph head wind, (that's wind that is blowing in your face for you newbies) and you have a ping g10 level 58 4i which hits at 200 yds. you use full backspin and full power. and you ding the shot. let's say we could take the same shot and hit it the same way 1000 times. same hole. same club. same everything. do you know that wgt designed this game to ens . . . . . crap. i forgot somthing. the same ball. ok, let's use a, how about, the basic wgt free ball. ok, anyway, ok ok. the same avatar. the same everything, let's just say that. ok, wgt designed this game to ensure that the ball would not land in the exact same spot. you can get close. and i bet with that same shot replicated 1000 times, i bet every ball would be within a 25 foot circle of the hole. of course, better balls would shrink that hole size a little i'm sure. but not one would be in the exact same spot. and thats'from 185 yrds out. the closer you play that replicated shot, the smaller that circle gets.
be blessed you got something this good. you could be getting hole in ones on par 5s . . . somewhere else.
