This has nothing to do with anything other than a wgt bug. when attempting an uphill putt, UPHILL only, it will stop halfway exactly, 14 footer 6 inches uphill, Tourney greens, I hit it 15 feet, stops at 7-8 feet. Several putts yesterday did this exact thing, I made sure my meter was correct etc. Everyone always has the answer when something does not happen to them, and usually they are totally off. Something changed at wgt, this is not user error. lol

I figured I couldn't be the only one who's seen this.  It happens randomly but fairly regularly and if it happens once in a round, it usually occurs more than once after that.

I've had it happen not just on regular ranked rounds, but in tournaments on faster greens too.  I seldom use the practice mode.  It's almost as if the game shifts to a lower meter even when I don't change the scale manually.  It looks like I'm shooting on a 30 scale, but actually hitting a 15 scale.

I'll try to keep track the next time I'm setting a distance close to a scale break and see if it happens under those circumstances.

    Tigerpaw509:

Most likely you are in practice mode and with the PCEA/Mac the putting scale will change on you when you do a reverse view or change clubs.Best advise is to triple check the scale before putting.

I have played the Mac EA for four months now and never have that problem but I only play ranked games.

    Perhaps this might also help

Distance X the far right column. correct?

    20' X .68 = 13.6 ' of strength for Champ 14 Greens.

It could be as simple as using the wrong elevation. On some greens on long uphill putts the elevation is listed in inches, That is 36 inches. But on some it is listed in feet that is just 3. If you don't convert the elevation to inches in your calculation on those greens you will come up short by at least 1/2 or more.

For example a 35 foot putt uphill 3 feet not converted to inches that is just using 3 would calculate to 24.74 feet on 14 green speed. But converted to inches using 36 inches the same putt would actually need to be hit 53.19 feet which is well over twice the distance if the elevation is not converted to inches,

Happened twice again this morning. One putt at OLY for 18’; putt went 6’; one putt at WC for 12’; putt went 4’. Both putts at tourney speed hit on the 20’ scale. Putt just dribbles off the club face, hardly moves.

It happens even on gentle upslopes, under 6 inches sometimes, not just sharp ledges.

It does seem the meter seems to be changing even if it isn't apparent at the time of the shot.

obviously it's a meter problem if it stops exactly halfway. it's dropping down a meter scale

Whether it's user error or a bug in the game or a glitchy mouse.

Since he's fairly sure it's not user error that leaves the other two.

I have had this happen countless times..more often then not I assuming I have the correct putter equipped but many timeS I given the wrong one .have a 15 foot putt and given the ten foot putter instead of the 20...it happens so often that I catch it almost once a round..I just assume it’s just something they do to drive you crazy or make you pay attention to everything....
