Just cruising along making some birdies and some pars, nothing great and nothing real bad.  -8 on the tee at 18 thinking fairway, green and see what happens with the putt.

I tee the ball up, adjust it so my mark is precisely where the face of the club is going to meet the ball.  I take my stance, wiggle my butt a couple of times, waggle the club and get set.  I pull that club back as pretty as can be and start my downswing and SWOOSH!!!!.

My soft little kitty brushes up against my leg, creating a tingling feeling up into my finger causing a premature reaction.  The ball ends up on the left side of the fairway in a little tuft of weeds with a 50/60 lie.  I'm a 178yds to the hole with honestly no real clue on how to hit it in this game so I whack a 6 iron punch into the front bunker and guess what, another 50/60 lie dammit.

Nothing spectacular from there, I ended up with bogey on 18 for a.........63

Since this isn't the first time this has happened, beginning next week the soft little kitty is going to be belted up under lock and key and hidden away while I play.  I hate to hide a locked kitty but sometimes at my age, more strokes is not a good thing.

When I let her out, I'll spend more time petting her, she usually likes that.

A very scrambling 69 around Pinehurst this week which just seems to be most of my rounds lately. Just the 2 bogeys with one on each nine & a birdie on 18 finally got me into the red. A bad day with the ding cost me badly with 5-6 holes I was late or early costing me yardage & direction resulting in balls rolling off the side of greens & scrambling for par.

I also echo the sentiments of others before & think it's sensational that fmagnets plays in this event week after week & to to me I see him saying a 53 could be better is no different to me saying my 69 could be better. If not for the SS tour there's no way I'd appear on the same leaderboard as him & even with a handicap I still wonder how I'm in the same tournament sometimes. He's been one of the best for a very long time & I for one would love to be able to pick his brain & get some tips on how to get around these courses a lot better than I currently do.

    Cheers

-2 (68) for me. Hole 13, I had a 8 ft putt for birdie (after making a birdie on 12), and it mysteriously slow crawled all the way off the green (40 ft) for a bogey. I get another birdie on 14, so 15 showed a nice break for par, shoot, and it goes as straight as it could be. Another bogey. So in the course of 4 holes, birdie, bogey, birdie, bogey. Really? (Slaps forehead) GLTA!

60 for me at Pinehurst this week.  Made the turn at 28, and then the WGT weather vane got stuck on #16, resulting in a misread wind and a bogey that kept me out of the 50s.  On the plus side, I did get my 20,000th career birdie on #10.
