Good round on pebble beach, better the back than the front, which is not usual ... very happy with the surprising eagle on the 13th hole.

    01.11.21 Wk 3 18-hole Single Play Full 18 Champion 56

    cheers , Paco.

60 for me. Turned at 29. Just one mistimed approach and one lipped putt costing me. Back 9 started with 2 big mishits and saving par, then 4 birdies in a row, but a dribble into light rough on 16 was followed by a 3 putt to drop a shot. As usual these moments of silliness last for a hole or two and inexplicably found myself long and in rough on the 17th. Managed to save par with a good putt and then another good 27ft putt finishing off with an eagle. 60

I seem to be clinging tightly to the penultimate position on the leaderboard. I shot a 58 in the 2nd round. I don't think I could have possibly scored worse for how well I was playing. I was 8 under after 6 holes thanks to a 24' downhill putt. Although I know that putt well and knew it had a very good chance. Then a slight miss on #7 followed up with a slight miss on the wrong side of the ding with the putter gave me my first par. I could use that same sentence for #8. Still... I made the turn at -9 and with high hopes. My 31 on the back 9 could best be described as "yawn provoking". Playing very well, but near miss after near miss. Hole #18 is the perfect example. I had a makeable putt, hit it very well, and lipped out just like so many other holes. If I could add an inch circumference to the holes on the back 9  I would have improved my score by 4 to 5 strokes.  Net score "71".  Next time...

    Go low & have fun!

    Brett

Well what a surprised, possibly one of my better rounds at pebble, Had a very strange wind set, seemed that the wind was in the wrong direction for every hole where it could have assisted. Perhaps that s what helped my concentration.

Off to a flying start with eagle hole 2, bird 3, eagle hole 4, bird 5, 7, 9 to round out the front 9 28.

Back 9 was more of a struggle (as it is traditionally for me)

Par 10, bird 11. Hole 12 was a scramble, caught the bunker short right of the pin off the tee and thought I was in trouble, managed to flop out to within a yard to save par

Holes 13 par, birds 14 and 15.17 Pitching in from the back of the green for bird, and 18 with another bird.

For a bogey free round of 59.

    cheers,

    Jeff

A modest 62 this time. Terribly uninspired but it still beats vacuuming which was my alternative activity for tonight. Or does it...I´m not sure now.
