Lately a few opposing players in 9 hole games, when are losing, have remarked that WGT chose ls the winner.
My thought about this is...’so, when a player is losing, the game chose the winner but if the  same player wins, the game chose the winner. Meaning NO one really wins by their own ability and luck. Do these people believe they should win every game?? Alot of luck goes into every shot no matter how well its played.

Luck, yes. Skill, yes yes. Practice, yes yes yes.

Some players will only ever believe that a bad shot or result is because WGT is set against them in some way, and that the game is rigged and unfair. However a good shot is all down to their own ability of course.

    Best golf quote ever:

"The harder I practice, the luckier I get" (attributed to various individuals; Arnold Palmer credits Jerry Barber).

I always thought it was Mr. Gary Player who said it. Whoever the quote belongs to, it's an unchangeable maxim for sure.

"luck is where preparation meets opportunity".

Maybe a better driver would help. Would you like me to send you one?

I have always thought they could , After all it is a program and they can program it as they wish. I am  Ready for the snide comments. Fire away. :-)

Sure, they could. But I have yet to hear a compelling argument as to why they would, particularly for the players who are not winning tournaments day in day out....and that's 99+% of us.

I have never had any reason to believe that WGT pay my play the slightest bit of attention, and I might feel very special indeed if they saw fit to surreptitiously intervene in the result of a match or tournament I was playing in.

But no. I think they have better things to do with their time. Although whether they use that time efficiently is a whole other topic of discussion.

    Nigel.
