O.E.D.-Realistic-1) having a sensible and practical idea of what can be achieved or expected.
I think the record shows what can be achieved and I "expect" to see the same low numbers within a week of St. Andrews release. Why? I think that`s been explained already. Hundreds of rounds on the Same two courses and the Same pin placements. Oh, and lets not forget, course management and execution have a Little to do with it also. It`s also called "talent"(wink).
To be fair, if Tiger and Phil played these two courses twice a day for a year, I would "expect" to see very low averages from both of them. Yet I think Tiger would have the better one because of his course management and execution-ie-Talent. The talented players on this site have put in the hours(and hundreds of rounds) that are reflected by their scores. To begrudge them that based on "reality" seems to lack some perspective on your part.
O.E.D.-Realistic-2) representing things in a way that is accurate and true to life.
This opens the door to debate as far as "true to life" goes. A computer game "true to life" comes down to ones own expectations imo and I`m not looking for a debate but, I am trying to give some perspective on the matter. There are also Very few variables in this game compared to "real life golf". Wind direction and the "beast"(WGT`s deviation factor to represent RLG)are all there is. I think that in several months time and hundreds of rounds under your belt you will have a different perspective regarding these issues. Remember also that a players amount of "ranked rounds" only represents about half the amount of the time and practice involved because practice and multi play are not recorded. If you`re not interested in doing the same amount of "work" then don`t expect the same( or close to the same) results. TANSTAAFL(There aint no such thing as a free lunch).
Now I need to end this short story and get back to "work". Enjoy the game and good luck!
Regarding "double accounts" and sandbaggers, this will have to wait until Vol.2,lol
