The R9 vs.G10 for Master's

  So far, the G10 Master driver has provided some positive and negative results all caused by me. In one week of use my driving accuracy has gone from 93.7% to 93.4% and still dropping.

   And now down to 91.9%...I hate the drop, but require the distance.

  I know most Masters have the R9 but the above comment and some other things about the game have me wondering. 

  I've been in the rough in BPB enough to know I dont want to be there and I'm going to turn Master soon and will need to make this choice.

  IMO the R9 is best.

  i choose distance over forgiveness for one reason and one reason only

  • blue tee's. need the extra yardage on the R9 so i have less of an approach shot.

  The R-9 driver...there is no substitute. Accuracy is important, no doubt. The longer you play the easier hitting the 'Ding becomes.

  The G-10 3 wood..holds a little better on those long approaches into the par 5's.

  According to the spec sheet, the R-9 is both longer and more forgiving but less accurate. Is this an error I am unaware of?

  Not even looking at the spec sheet Sweety. I'm going by how much room I have on either side of the 'ding'. Less room with the R9...but i love the results and the occasional 340 I get on #6 at Bethpage. Now where's that landing area again?

  Take the list of Top 100 earnings leaders for this year thus far.  Eliminate those that have accumulated said wealth from anything other than gameplay.

  How many of those players bag something other than the R9 driver?

  This should end the debate for anyone until equipment additions or modifications possibly open it back up again.

  I have hit that area on BPB #6 several times...and guess what? I found another such landing area on BPB #11...343 yarder saved in my replays...if you want to know where it is.

        SP, you are fine with that, a must have tool for the game from the blue's. When you get the meter down change out the Raptures for the G10's. Also a must have tool for the game. Good luck! :)
