Mythanatos:
When your ball stops rolling look at the yardage.
The wind speed doesnt change.
Wind direction most all the time isn't going to be all that different than the tee shot.
So yes. 90% if not all of your math should be done if you go second on the approach. if going first can get pretty far along while waiting on the screen to load.
+1. This is exactly what I do to save time once it's my turn to hit.
One place I run into problems with the timer, though, is with some greenside shots, especially those from a bunker. Often, WGT only gives you a choice of 2 views. One is a "helicopter" view from above and behind the player, and the other is a forward-looking view from directly behind the player. Both of these views make it tough to aim a precise shot.
In those situations, I switch to Putter and click the camera icon a few times. I can eventually get the same behind-the pin view that you would get if you were on the green. That allows for a more accurately-aimed shot.
The problem with doing that, though, is that it takes several mouse clicks to switch to Putter, get the view that you want, then switch back to the wedge you want, then select the shot type (eg. pitch, punch, or flop) that you want. It eats up a lot of the clock doing all that. Often, I only have about 15 seconds left on the clock to do final aiming and hit. And if you make a mistake along the way and click the wrong shot type or the wrong wedge, it eats up even more time.
Complicated shots like this are often tough to execute in under 45 seconds. With a 60-sec clock, they would be no problem.
