Having issue getting on the game this morning...almost near impossible. When I open the game it says dowloading.... (a certain part of the game).....and then I get the spinning wheel in the lower left corner. Finally downloads the part of the game and then goes to next download and spins again. Took me a hour to get on and post this. I seen a thread lately about slow downloading .....at least I think I did....and cant seem to find it. Not sure if its related  but on Thursday my internet provider had a massive country wide wireless and internet crash. Over 9 million people had no service at all for 24 hrs. Its still not 100% but darn near it. TIA for help. Cheers.

Edit....I play on my PC. I exited the game and tried to load again to play and  got loading issue. It said Name: avatarAssetConfig.xml. Error Internet Timeout. Posted the edit on my phone. TIA again....im not good at computer issues. LOL

Try this Brian. Navigate your way here in windows explorer...

    C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Topgolf \ WGTLauncher

...then rename the golf folder. Rename it to golfold or something like that.

Then fire up the game to see if it installs any updates and launches correctly.

If it runs properly now, you can delete the golfold folder as there will be a new golf folder that the game will use.

I was talking to my daughter, and she was horrified- a couple hours is a long time to miss internet in her world...lol A full 24 is like the dark ages to her.

This does seem to fix most things going on...

Scott, when I do this I just have renamed the GOLF folder as GOLFD and the next Time GOLFD1, then GOLFD2 etc- I have just left em there, any Issue you can see with leaving this there?

I don't think there would be any issue PG. I'm reasonably certain the launcher only looks for the folder named golf and ignores anything else similarly named.

How about Program Files on your C drive?

At what point did you get lost?

Hey Brian, If you right click on the WGT Shortcut- (the one you double click to open WGT either in your start menu or on your desktop) the bottom choice is "Properties" Click that and you will have a box with a bunch of tabs like this-

Make sure your on the tab that says "Shortcuts" and at the bottom is a box that says "Open File Location" If you click that you should see the GOLF folder Scott is talking about.

    Nice one PG.

I appear to have that option in the right click menu on a desktop icon too, in Win 11. Might have been there in Win 10 as well, but I can't remember.

Ok I found the above info. There ws a large update...took about 10 mins.....but at the end of the update it says an error has occured while patching the game. Now I cant even get on the site as it goes directly to update. Ugh.

Just curious... which version of Windows are you using?
