Cost of balls

  First off, I'd like to say I'm not complaining about the expense of the balls.. They cost to much for me, that's fine, people who have the money enjoy it, so alright.. I did pay to get some clubs.. Of course they're not going anywhere and I'll have them until the game ends, or I quit playing, heh.. I've found with the starter balls which I'm going to continue using.. It's just quite simply a never ending fight to even stay on the green.. So I guess my question is, is it possible to have consistent results with starter balls eventually, or am I just screwed? :P

  The cost of balls is too much, I agree with you 100% on this. That however doesn't solve your problem. If I were you I'd use the SD balls, 65 credits for a sleeve is very good value. You'll get more distance and you'll be able to get the stop on the greens needed. There isn't a better value ball available as they give you a bit of everything, including durability.

  With the right clubs, they will stop fairly decent.  The level 59+ Ping G10s I am using can stop the starter balls decent with the higher clubs.

  Thanks for the input, The starter balls are just horrid, it's unfortunate they don't have some kind of one time payment upgrade for them for people like me(which I'm sure I'm not the only one)... Not something that would be incredibly good, just something manageable, heh.. I was actually looking into the SD balls before you posted, definitely going to try them out now, and 65 cents is LOADS better than paying $2.50 to $3.00  a sleeve for some of these balls around my level.. Especially considering how much I play. Thanks again.

  the SDs are great... if you want to go even cheaper, get some with spin but no distance or feel. that said, when using starter balls you have to land short of the hole or even the green, and allow the ball to roll up to the hole

  Another good choice is the Tour GI-S ball. It's not as long as the SD and doesn't last quite as long but it slows the meter down a little making it a little easier to ding the meter, @ 82 credits it's not nearly as expensive as the Srixons or the Cally's are.

  If you are somewhat confident about your ability to keeps balls in play, The srixons are absolutely the best value with good performance due to their durability.

  White B-ES and XD Balls are 10cr a sleeve. just a sleight improvement over the starter, but a good value nonetheless. heck that was all we had back in the day. Tour xxx balls just wear out way too fast, not a good value  imo

  Why not do the surveys and offers and get your balls paid for that way?

  I played the Tour-SDs all the way to Legend. 22 cents a ball and definitely a performer for the price. The GI-SDs are the same thing with a slower meter but you pay more for them.
