   I have a tough time judging distance on this hole, either I'm way long or in the pond.

  If I dial it in exactly I'm always way short.

  It is a strange hole. Sometimes I think I've got the angle and distance spot on and I'm way out. Just this morning I hit a 225 yard iron to it into a wind and the ball travelled 235 yards into the rough.

  I love this hole. Just subtract a yard for every 3 ft of downhill elevation and it's a cake birdie hole whether the pin is in the back or the front.

  We've all had a good shot or two there but they are rare for me. My first HIO was there! That hole owns me simply because it's so unpredictable. I don't know if it's because the green is lower and partially protected by winds or what but I've given up trying to play it like a normal hole and now just miss to aim, take the par and occasional birdie, and move on. Frustrating. :(

  Oddly enough this hole played almost identically to the first hole on Oakmont when I was a TM. Pretty much had that hole dialed in back then. Now, phatt, forget it, the ball goes where it want's and it never want's to get close to the hole. At least for me. So I'm with you YJ,

  However, I will try that minus 1 yd for 3 feet down trick, adjust for wind and see what happens. Couldn't be any worse than what it is now LOL.

  I got a HIO on here a week or two ago.  Didn't see it as I was typing in the chat box.  And no replay as it was multi-player stroke play game.  But I was playing with Lizzie and she has a replay saved on a hard drive in her head, which will only cost 400 callaways to view!  That's cheap, I say!
