it's a long/mid iron shot to a green 30 foot below the hole. The wind is going to effect that shot more than any other shot with the same iron. I try to keep the ball rather low off the tee, hitting with no spin or just a touch of backspin. So usually it's my 190 club choked just a bit, sometimes down to about where the old first avatar movement used to be. I do often get a bit of roll and have a 6-8 footer downhill, but that's where I like to be on this hole, so it works for me. I'm sure a lot of folks just full back it and fly it up there, but this leaves you more at the mercy of the wind and the beast- The beast lives on #8 and vacations on STA#11 - so be careful. When the $#!^ is in the air longer, it's more likely to find the fan.
I think 99% of pro's would probably not tee the ball up here - and play it right off the grass - or at least on a tee pushed down into the ground. I'd love to have the same option here as the spin might be easier to control. i.e hit a lower shot with more spin instead of hitting some moon ball off a tee that could go wherever it pleases.
