EEK!!
I guess no one can be ready for 27 MPH head winds on both par 5s and 27 MPH tailwinds on both par 3s and 27 MPH sidewinds on just about everything else!
But maybe you can be consoled by the fact that the winner probably had tailwinds on the par 5's and the driveable par 4's
I'm not in it, sorry for asking this question...lol.... Is there such a thing as a Tailwind on a Par5 at St Andys
LOL thats a really good question - maybe you should ask the winner?
Seriously though, another single play tournament with heavy winds at St Andrews, by my reckoning if you get good wind direction
#2 Drive and wedge - should be close and birdie chance with tailwind
#5 Eagle chance - tailwind
#8 Better chance birdie with headwind
#9 Green driveable with tailwind
#10 Green driveable with tailwind
#11 Better birdie chance with headwind
#12 Green driveable with tailwind
#14 Eagle chance - tailwind
#17 - Left - Right or tailwind, birdie chance, headwind you're fighting for Par
#18 Green driveable with tailwind
Discount the other holes where wind may/may not help, but this is over 50% of the holes where the wind directions can have a huge influence on the ability to eagle/birdie/par
I don't really go with the theory supported by Icon that this is fair - if two legends, lets say two top legends with about the same average play, and one gets this wind set and the other get exactly the opposite how many strokes would he/she win by? And lets face it he/she would win
