Thanks, TD... I'm always open to suggestions when it comes to putting!

    Hi CM

The way to get tourney greens to practise on is set up a tournament through your Country Club, you have the option there.

    TAP

He was talking about Championship greens, not tourney greens...

    CMcCartney727:
Right now we can't even get tourney greens in practice rounds...

Correct me if I'm wrong....but wasn't the free 18-hole Best-Of tourney on Champ greens for the entire month of November?

And granted, that was last month...but it gave you an entire month to play on them for free.

Yes that tourney used championship green speeds.

Gave it a go on the champ greens in the December Tour thing I qualified for.. managed to get through Cabo without any bad misses and finished -9... 2nd round at Kiawah was a different story... 4 lipouts in the first 5 holes, WD, thank you very much.  I know my limitations in this game!

There is only a few holes at cabo that can kill ya round... 1st hole for example, is better off being 15ft away than 2ft from the green... Kia is a diferent story though.

    -Roger

EDIT...sorry... that was 2ft form the hole and not 2ft from the green....lol

I got a little tid bit, if ya like to use formulas...I take the net of the putt and multiply it by 0.72...so if you have a putt of 25' and it's downhill 3" it would be 25-3 = 22 X .72 = 15.84 or 16'. You have to adjust for certain greens and it only works for down hill putts of more than 10', but that will certainly get you closer to making the putts.

TD, been using your formula and it's helped me a ton... Shot a 29 in a legend RG on Cabo to tie for first.. birdied the first 7 holes on a course that can be tough to putt.  Thanks again!

i see all these low scores on here and think these players are good till i realize that most of thier game is theeir equipment and not the player. would suggest to wgt to have a tournament once a month  as follows---1 entry---have to finish---driver of your choice wtg starter wedges irons putter and balls think all these low scores will go right out the window

think its the only way u can tell who is top dog  u legends think u can handle it,,lol

You are right about the equipment.   I see from your profile you're a 'newbie'.  We all were there...  You can't compare playing starter clubs and balls with the good stuff, that is absolutely true.  But you still have to learn how to use them.  Playing the same courses over and over helps to learn where to hit the shots (and where not to), and you learn how far your clubs go with different spins, etc.   There is also a significant difference in hole length playing from back tees.  Plus, you have to 'qualify' t (reach certain levels) to be able to buy certain clubs.

I don't think anyone would shoot 29 from the back tees using starter equipment.  But I think the best players (right now, like Bollox) would still shoot the best scores.

Championship greens difficulty varies in my opinoin depending on what course you play,If i play BP for example i wont notice much difference or RSG and Congressional,But for me Kiawa is an absolute nightmare,im guaranteed to 3 putt 3 greens over 18,St Andrews you have to be very careful too and Oak,
