Is there anyone reading this that has a lot of computer knowledge to tell me if I am correct about needing to buy a gaming-type PC to play this game now?  I appreciate the help.

No. This game does not need a dedicated GPU to run smoothly.

    Brilliant post, well said!!

This awful update is now costing people money through lost balls due to the jumpy meter! Is that what WGT wanted?

At this moment your priority shouldn't be to sort out the graphics. It should be to sort out the jerky meter so that we can play the game with confidence!

Thank you for replying Yiannis1970.  Do you know why some players say the game meter is running smooth while many others say the opposite?  Nothing is making sense.  Before the last WGT update, I had a fairly smooth meter but after the update the meter is a complete mess.  The game is not enjoyable at all now.

Completely correct.  As I posted earlier I'm using a run-of-the-mill laptop (several generation old Intel i5, not even a newer i7 or i9) and run-of-the-mill onboard graphics chip and everything is just fine.

I have no answers as to why certain people are having meter issues, but mine is running as well or better than before the update.

i,ve tried your idea, and YES!, what a difference. leaving the view of the green on, and the metre speed is absolutely smooth.

I've been experiencing a lot of meter jumpiness.  This needs to be fixed. My swing animation also looks odd.

Tried that, no help. Meter shoots across in jerks like a meth head after a crack pipe....

Does turning the shadows off make any difference?

For those of you with bad meters after the last update, Check your video drivers, About maybe 2 months ago after an update my meter was so bad that it was unplayable. Scott Hope mentioned an Windows update about the same time might have done something. I checked and Windows had replaced my AMD Radeon video driver with a generic Windows video driver,  I reinstalled my AMG Radeon video driver and the meter was a good as always, It is not always WGT's fault.
